You are tech savvy, love to tackle new and complex projects with lots of moving parts requiring you to learn and stretch your abilities, but you're just as happy helping us get and stay organized or getting simple but important tasks done perfectly. You're responsible, reliable, quick and accurate, and your self-starting, can-do attitude makes you the go-to person for a wide range of requests. You have an interest in a legal work environment and a desire to grow with our team. Are you ready to join us? We are a fun, fast-moving team responsible for providing legal advice and transactional support for the largest private timberlands owner in the country. The scope of our work is broad -- supporting all aspects of sustainably growing and harvesting trees on a 20-plus million acre North American land base, an active real estate portfolio (with hundreds of sale and easement transactions each year), a growing energy business, both traditional oil & gas as well as wind and solar leasing, minerals leasing, and a large recreational leasing program, to name a few. A subset of our team manages the company's land ownership records in a GIS-based system. We really love the work we do, and we're looking for the right person to help us do it better by joining our team. You will report directly to the Vice President & Assistant General Counsel leading a 20-person team of lawyers, paralegals, and land records professionals. Primary Responsibilities for this Role * Completing administrative tasks for the team, such as processing invoices, booking and managing travel, ordering supplies, organizing and preparing materials for meetings, and occasional printing/copying/scanning, shipping and express deliveries * Utilizing SharePoint or other repository of forms and other resources we use in our day-to-day work, and leading our effort to keep that up-to-date * Helping team members build PowerPoint and other training/presentation materials * Scheduling meetings, both internal and with clients * Proofreading and formatting legal documents * Helping track work flow within our team * Pitching in on special projects Requirements * Experience: You have at least two years of administrative experience, preferably in a corporate or law firm environment. Exposure to legal and/or corporate transactional work is a plus. If you have experience with budgeting you get a gold star. * Proactive: You don't wait to be told what to do. You anticipate what needs to be done and make it happen. * Flexible: Our team is responsible for a lot of widely varying activities, and our work environment is always evolving. We're looking for someone who can roll with shifting priorities and juggle them with ease. * Attention to Detail: Some tasks are big and some are small, but they all require attentive care to ensure accuracy and excellence. * Communication: Clear and professional communications skills — both written and oral — are a must. We often work on confidential or proprietary matters, so sound judgment and discretion is a must. * Professionalism: We interact with people at all levels within the company as well as outsiders. We hold ourselves to a high standard of professionalism, both within our team and in all our dealings with others. * Soft Skills: You enjoy working collaboratively with all levels of an organization. You act with urgency, naturally seek to simplify tasks, enjoy learning and problem-solving, listen well, and are good at building relationships. * Technical Skills: You are proficient in Word, PowerPoint, OneDrive, Outlook, Skype and Excel. * Education: Bachelor's or Associate's degree is preferred.
