Position Overview:

The Legal department of Adaptive Biotechnologies Corporation is seeking a qualified, highly motivated, experienced professional for the position of Legal Assistant, Contracts. This position will report to the General Counsel. Attorney candidates will not be considered. This position requires a self-motivated, flexible candidate who likes a challenge, with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. This role is responsible for overall day-to-day management of contract review, execution, and management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the contract processincluding following internal specific standards for contract creationand document management;

  • Serve as point of contact for external stakeholders throughout contract process, including coordinating communication from and acting as a liaison between internal personnel, Legal department, and external contacts;

  • Assist with converting standard contract requests into first-draft contracts using company templates;

  • Input contracts and contract provisions directly into contract management system (i.e., data entry);

  • Contribute to the continued improvement of the contract management system and processes based upon evolving company needs;

  • Triage contract requests made by employees to Legal department;

  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure each contract is fully executed via DocuSign in a timely manner;

  • Prepare and disseminate information regarding contract status, compliance, modifications, etc. to contract requestors, project teams, and/or other stakeholders, including generating reports of data from contract management system;

  • Review contractual documents to ensure adherence to company policy, government specifications and requirements, and conformance to master agreements;

  • Identifies risks and issues, and suggests alternatives that lead to the best solution using sound business judgment;

  • Project tracking; and

  • Additional responsibilities may be appointed based upon experience and company need.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years contract management-related experience (experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical or medical device industry preferred)

  • Able to take direction, prioritize, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

  • Able to work both collaboratively and independently, while exercising initiative, flexibility, and sound business judgment

  • Analytically-oriented; practical and proactive problem solver

  • Comfortable working with different levels of the company including senior level management

  • Highly organized with a meticulous attention to detail

  • Able to set priorities and juggle multiple demands

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Strong computer skills required (contract management software, DocuSign, and Microsoft Office suite)

  • Ability to operate in alignment with company's core values

Primary Responsibilities for this Role * Completing administrative tasks for the team, such as processing invoices, booking and managing travel, ordering supplies, organizing and preparing materials for meetings, and occasional printing/copying/scanning, shipping and express deliveries * Utilizing SharePoint or other repository of forms and other resources we use in our day-to-day work, and leading our effort to keep that up-to-date * Helping team members build PowerPoint and other training/presentation materials * Scheduling meetings, both internal and with clients * Proofreading and formatting legal documents * Helping track work flow within our team * Pitching in on special projects Requirements * Experience: You have at least two years of administrative experience, preferably in a corporate or law firm environment. Exposure to legal and/or corporate transactional work is a plus. If you have experience with budgeting you get a gold star. * Proactive: You don't wait to be told what to do. You anticipate what needs to be done and make it happen. * Flexible: Our team is responsible for a lot of widely varying activities, and our work environment is always evolving.
