Job Overview: The Legal and Compliance & Quality Departments are responsible for ensuring that the company maintains optimal compliance with appropriate federal, state and local requirements that touch and impact every business function within the company.
Advance Health is in search of a Legal and Compliance Analyst who will report directly to the General Counsel and work closely with the Compliance Officer. Primary responsibilities of the Compliance and Legal Analyst include: ensuring compliance with all Medicare and Medicaid program requirements, and responsible for obtaining and maintaining Advance Health's Medicaid participation in states where Advance Health may perform services for Medicaid customers; working with the Compliance Officer to ensure that all policies and procedures are implemented, well documented and updated as necessary; aiding In the identification of compliance problems; assisting with customer and internal audits/monitoring; participation in company oversight for HIPAA and fraud, waste and abuse; conducting legal research as necessary; reviewing simple contracts under attorney supervision; and other projects that fall under the jurisdiction of the Legal & Compliance Departments. Assists in confidential Legal and Compliance investigations + Works with the General Counsel and Compliance Officer to identify compliance gaps within the company and work with appropriate business functions to correct and/or mitigate potential issues + Assist in compliance monitoring of, testing of, and reporting on key internal processes + Aids in the development of risk management strategies to avoid non-compliance + Maintain and manage contracts in Advance Health's contract management system + Assist General Counsel with drafting legal documents/agreements + Prepare initial agreements and contracts based on templates (e.g., NDAs, BAAs, etc.) + Reviews simple contracts under attorney supervision
Assists with drafting and proofreading various other documents + Handles various administrative tasks, ad-hoc legal and compliance projects + Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: + Bachelor's Degree - Paralegal Certification a plus + Experience with managing a health care provider's enrollment and ongoing participation in Medicare and State Medicaid programs; + Experience in healthcare compliance or in the health insurance industry a plus + Quick learner, ability to identify and proactively resolve problems + Ability to think and work independently as well as be a collaborative team player + Strong written communication skills (writing sample required) + Exceptional interpersonal and verbal communication skills + Ability to effectively organize resources and establish priorities + Must be detail-oriented + This position is exposed to confidential records on an ongoing basis and must be able to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times + Proficient in spreadsheet creation and analysis + Proficient with Microsoft Office Advance Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer ID: 2017-2011 External Company URL: http://www.advancehlth.com/
