Performs legal tasks in support of Litigation Associate Counsels.
Key Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
Responsibilities include maintaining and organizing litigation materials; litigation management; processing correspondence, and various clerical duties, including filing/copying/court package assembly. Provide customers service via mail/telephone when needed.
Must be able to prioritize, handle, and execute multiple requests and tasking in high volumes
Reviews accounts for entire legal process.
Preparation for accounts placed for civil legal action including E-Filing and/or generating all required pleadings.
Processes correspondence to attorneys, debtors and courts
Reviews dispute accounts for appropriate handling.
Tracks document requests.
Processes check requests.
Maintains a document management system
Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations and company policies across areas of organizational responsibility
Previous experience as a Legal Clerk I required
High school diploma or G.E.D required
1-2 years related litigation experience in a law firm or municipal or state court or equivalent education or training
Excellent writing and communication skills
Good organizational skills
Familiarity with Microsoft Office
Effective time-management and interpersonal skills with a high attention to detail
Must be able to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as the employee works in an office environment, in an individual work station, using telephone and computer.
