Work hard, have fun, and make history with Amazon's legal team. We are looking for a smart and motivated individual to provide administrative assistance to our Amazon Legal Operations group. Responsibilities include the intake and processing of physical mail and digital contacts through automated systems, delivering the legal new hire orientation, draft weekly status reports, perform other general admin services (e.g., calendaring, record filing, supply purchase coordination, and budget tracking), and build strong relationships with stakeholders to manage operational functions for the Legal Department.

The successful candidate will possess the ability to work efficiently and independently; manage high volumes of tasks and projects with little guidance; react with appropriate urgency to situations and events that require a quick response or turnaround; take effective action without having to know the total picture; and think creatively and be proactive in solving problems that affect people within the group or other related groups. The candidate will also be client-service oriented, have great attention to detail while still meeting tight deadlines, have great organization skills, and have the flexibility to switch gears as necessary. The candidate must exercise a high level of professionalism, integrity, discretion in handling confidential information, and the ability to work well with people at all levels inside and outside the company.

Coordinating with the L&C leadership team and partners in IT, Finance, and HR, you will have primary responsibility for owning the legal operations function. You must advocate tirelessly for individuals throughout the department and be a constant, positive force for change. Responsibilities: * Build out a roadmap for building out the legal operations function at Zillow * Seek opportunities for process improvement in the Legal and Compliance department and help the team create and implement effective, feasible solutions * Help individuals identify their pain points and needs, document their requirements, and distill those requirements into actionable plans * Develop and deploy creative vendor cost reduction strategies, including fee arrangement negotiations and implementation of billing guidelines, and develop tools for analyzing rate increases and legal pricing strategy * Lead operational projects to successful completion in a transparent and cost-effective manner * Regularly brief department leadership on major legal ops initiatives and opportunities for continued improvement * Learn new software and other legal technology solutions (e.g., e-billing, contract and document management, approval workflow, e-signature, knowledge management, etc) and train others on how to use them most effectively depending on their needs * Coordinate with Finance, IT, HR, and other business partners as needed to run legal ops functions * Track and report on departmental key results and other financial and operational metrics * Handle the budget and other resources allocated to legal operations * Operate with integrity as you handle projects of a sensitive and confidential nature Who you are We are looking for experienced candidates who have held similar or relevant positions within corporate legal departments or in law firm management. Legal operations is a rapidly developing space, and you should be curious and eager to learn and explore new concepts and tools. Skills and Qualifications: * Significant experience in legal operations or project management at an in-house legal department or law firm (preferably both) * Outstanding project management skills, including the ability to set and meet deadlines and keep clear, organized records * Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal * Strong creative problem-solving skills * Familiarity with implementing and operating common legal technology solutions (preferably including one or more of Smartsheet, Legal Tracker, iManage, and Icertis) * Experience with and/or demonstrated aptitude for building and developing a team of legal operations professionals * Ability to work with individuals at all levels in the organization and build positive relationships with business partners * Effective decision-making skills, including the ability to choose a course of action in situations involving substantial uncertainty and risk * BA or BS degree or other comparable education and work experience Get to know us Zillow Group houses the largest portfolio of real estate brands on mobile and the web.
