A well-established regional Florida law firm is seeking an experienced legal assistant/paralegal for its Fort Lauderdale, FL office. Candidates with at least three consistent years of recent insurance defense litigation experience will be considered.
Experience with First-Party Property, Third-Party Property, Premises Liability, and/or Construction Defect cases is a big plus. Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to: Reviewing documents for deadlines and monitoring and calendaring same pursuant to confirmed court orders; Coordinating and scheduling hearings, mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and trials, and assisting attorneys in preparation of same; Preparing and filing pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and related documentation using Florida’s E-Filing portal; Assisting in the execution and service of discovery requests and third-party requests for production and Preparing and revising legal documents and correspondence.
