Responsibilities

The position is located in the United States Attorney's Office (USAO). If selected for this position you will serve as USAO Grand Jury Coordinator and also as a senior legal assistant responsible for directly and independently supporting Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs) by providing a wide variety of technical assistance services related to complex grand jury actions and matters. The work requires a specialized knowledge of the laws, regulations, processes, procedures and practices of grand jury activities, knowledge of clerical and administrative office skills and an ability to apply these skills to increase the effectiveness of the assigned AUSAs. Typical duties include;

  • Provide technical advice to lower graded support staff regarding procedures and processing requirements of grand jury activities and cases.

  • Make extensive searches of records, references or historical material.

  • Provide verbal and written instructions to attorneys, support staff and new law enforcement officers as to the various procedures.

  • Conduct legal research on grand jury matters using the grand jury manual and other legal and/or on-line references.

  • Establish and maintain monthly calendar of grand jury activities including criminal hearings and related matters.

  • Compile trial notebooks, assembling jury instructions and compiling witness and exhibit lists.

  • Review incoming material and determine the need for correspondence and legal documents such as motions, orders, pleadings and subpoenas.

Qualifications

GS-8: At least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as providing information and assistance relating to grand jury investigations/matters scheduled for grand jury, and legal and administrative procedures to be followed; examines, prepares and processes a variety of technical legal documents which are characteristically voluminous and complex in format; prepares legal actions such as indictments, criminal complaints, search warrants, judgments, applications, notices, affidavits, summonses, grand jury subpoenas, rules to show cause, proofs of claim, and satisfaction of judgment.

To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.)

As a Full-Time Front Office Assistant, you will be responsible for greeting patients, activating patient files, and providing support to medical staff. Our location is 12300 Chenal Way, Little Rock, AR Primary Responsibilities: * Assist in opening and closing the clinic, locking and unlocking the doors, and maintaining a clean waiting area * Welcome all On-Site Clinic patients and visitors by greeting them with a friendly demeanor, answering inquiries and directing them through the registration process. * Answer multi-phone lines, filing, faxing, scanning documentation and completing daily patient callbacks * Collect all insurance information, verify patient demographics, process payments, and complete phone sheets. * Discharge patients, verify their information, and provide them with anything needed to leave such as discharge papers, prescription, or work/school excuses You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.
