The position is located in the United States Attorney's Office (USAO). If selected for this position you will serve as USAO Grand Jury Coordinator and also as a senior legal assistant responsible for directly and independently supporting Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs) by providing a wide variety of technical assistance services related to complex grand jury actions and matters. The work requires a specialized knowledge of the laws, regulations, processes, procedures and practices of grand jury activities, knowledge of clerical and administrative office skills and an ability to apply these skills to increase the effectiveness of the assigned AUSAs. Typical duties include;

  • Provide technical advice to lower graded support staff regarding procedures and processing requirements of grand jury activities and cases.

  • Make extensive searches of records, references or historical material.

  • Provide verbal and written instructions to attorneys, support staff and new law enforcement officers as to the various procedures.

  • Conduct legal research on grand jury matters using the grand jury manual and other legal and/or on-line references.

  • Establish and maintain monthly calendar of grand jury activities including criminal hearings and related matters.

  • Compile trial notebooks, assembling jury instructions and compiling witness and exhibit lists.

  • Review incoming material and determine the need for correspondence and legal documents such as motions, orders, pleadings and subpoenas.

GS-8: At least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as providing information and assistance relating to grand jury investigations/matters scheduled for grand jury, and legal and administrative procedures to be followed; examines, prepares and processes a variety of technical legal documents which are characteristically voluminous and complex in format; prepares legal actions such as indictments, criminal complaints, search warrants, judgments, applications, notices, affidavits, summonses, grand jury subpoenas, rules to show cause, proofs of claim, and satisfaction of judgment.

To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.)

Responsibilities The End User Automation Sales Executive is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of the sales relationship with each End User customer/prospect in their portfolio at every level from the (CxO) executive suite to departmental line managers. Product, Services and Solution will encompass all Schneider Electric EcoStruxure Plant offerings and range in scale from product sales to complex, multi-service, and multi-year partnerships. Specific new sales/revenue and profit margin targets are established annually by management.
