Legal Assistant - First Party Property (Florida)

Derrevere Stevens Black & Cozad has an exciting opportunity to join their First Party Property Practice Group as a Legal Assistant. This position can be in office, hybrid or 100% work-from-home and will utilize cutting-edge legal technology. The successful candidate will be asked to assist in all phases of the litigation process and have the following experience and skills:

• Minimum 2-3 years of previous experience in a law office

• Excellent attention to detail

• Good written and verbal communications skills

• Adept computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite

• Produce information by transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying and transmitting documents, and coordinating case preparation

• Drafting letters and documents

• Proficient in E-filing, scheduling couriers, court reporters, expert witnesses, and other special functions

• Maintain litigation files in a computer-based filing index.

• Maintain attorney calendars by planning and scheduling conferences, teleconferences and court hearings, recording and monitoring court appearance dates, pleadings, and filing requirements

• Following up on delegated assignments

• Maintain client confidence by keeping client/attorney information confidential
