Assists attorneys on a wide variety of projects in a professional setting.
Greets visitors by telephone and in person and ascertain nature of business, provide assistance or referral, and explain policies and procedures;
Composes and types letters, reports and memos from rough drafts, notes or verbal instructions;
Utilizes a variety of computer software to produce legal documents;
Schedules appointments and maintains calendar;
Opens, reviews and routes mail according to contents;
Maintains department files and records;
Reviews and proofreads legal documents to ensure accuracy and corrections.
Completion of a high school diploma or the equivalent with an additional one to three years of responsible secretarial or receptionist experience or any combination of relevant education and experience which provides the following:
Knowledge and Abilities
