Centric Brands is looking for a self-motivated Legal Assistant to provide project and administrative support to a team of four SVP's in our Legal Department.
Key responsibilities of this position will include: providing support on day-to-day operations, priority initiatives, project work, general administrative tasks, meeting and travel planning.
The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, sound judgement, exceptional problem-solving skills and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Licensing and Other Contractual Matters
Prepare abstracts and recaps for signature.
Draft contractual notices.
Utilize new contract management software to upload existing contracts.
Minute book maintenance.
Responding to inquiries from business teams as directed.
Litigation and IP
Assist with gathering information for responses to claims and cease & desist letters.
Assist with filing claims for insured product liability matters.
Request settlement checks.
Liaise between business teams and outside counsel for TM renewals.
Assist HR team with misc. legal inquiries.
Assist Customs team with import authorization letters and POAs as needed.
Arrange travel for the team as needed.
Organize and submit expense reports.
Maintain departmental calendar.
Process outside counsel invoices; assist with setting up new vendors as needed.
Prepare general correspondence and mailings.
Liaise with executive admin team and outside counsel for signatures (M&A matters, closing binders, etc.).
Route requests for review of contracts to appropriate attorney.
Assist with training sessions.
Greeting guests for the department as needed.
Skills and Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Communications (Paralegal Degree not required).
2+ years' experience as a legal assistant.
Previous experience within a law firm, financial services or the apparel industry.
Proficient in Word, along with a demonstrated ability to adapt to new systems.
Strong interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Able to take direction and work independently with little supervision.
Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
