Performs secretarial and administrative duties for one or more attorneys.

Job Description:

Job Responsibilities

  • Interact effectively with BCBST personnel from all areas of the company, as well as members, outside and opposing counsel, and other persons.

  • Perform legal secretarial functions, including preparing documents, answering telephones, maintaining contacts, and filing.

  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, appointments, and travel.

  • Prepare, edit, format and proofread correspondence, contracts, and other legal documents.

Job Qualifications


  • Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience required. Equivalent experience is defined as 2 years of professional work experience in a corporate environment.


  • 4 years - Experience as a legal assistant/secretary in a law firm or in the law department of a corporation required


  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or function in a team environment sharing responsibility, roles and accountability.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint)

  • Accuracy and attention to detail

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Job Specific Requirements:

Secretarial and administrative legal experience preferred.

Microsoft Word styles and formatting experience preferred.
