The Legal Analyst - IP reports to the Associate General Counsel and is responsible for managing the Company's trademark and patent database and management system. The position is also responsible for managing the IP teams physical files and the Company's domestic trademark prosecution duties.
Manage and maintain the Company's trademark and patent database and management system (Computer Packages, Inc. "CPI"). This includes but is not limited to supporting the Intellectual Property team with records management, updating deadlines and docket entries, modifying records to track current use/non-use of HBI core brands, managing and maintaining worldwide IP enforcement records and generating reports, templates and country law updates within the system.
Manage IP team's physical files within the Accutrack system. This includes but is not limited to creating physical files for all intellectual property files, closing files upon completion of dispute or termination of trademark/patent registration, and insuring compliance with HBI document retention policy, including managing off-site storage through vendor, Jordan Lawrence.
Manage the Company's domestic trademark prosecution duties. This includes preparing and filing applications with the USPTO's online TEAS platform, providing key contact for business units responsible for identifying and submitting acceptable specimens of use for the USPTO, preparing and filing all renewal applications, with the assistance of the Intellectual Property paralegal team, on the TEAS platform, and making initial filings for all potential dispute matters with the USPTO's Trademark Trial and Appeal Board online system.
Manage the Company's international trademark renewals. This includes coordinating with international business leads to secure renewal instructions and managing the same with local counsel around the world.
Manage the Company's patent maintenance and annuity deadlines through CPI.
Manage the IP team's financial and billing system, Legal Tracker, to ensure proper invoicing and support IP team outside counsel with the management of matters; troubleshoot any invoicing issues as they arise.
Work with finance team and assist with planning, analysis and budgeting of IP spend.
Assist IP due diligence projects;
Provide occasional administrative support as requested.

Required Education: Associates degree
Preferred Education: Bachelor degree
Required Years of Experience: 2-3 years relevant experience
Skills Required: Working knowledge of database and systems management. Attention to detail is an absolute must. This position requires a keen eye for consistency across workflows and meticulous record keeping. Must be able to work independently and manage priorities and substantial workflow in a fast-paced work environment. Excellent written and oral communications skills are essential, as are strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation. Sound business and legal judgment and the ability to understand and respond to business needs are also necessary qualities.
Skills Preferred: Experience with IP database management systems management; budgeting and financial planning experience.
Notary license is a plus
Technical Competencies: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is required. Proficiency in Corsearch, CPI and SharePoint is preferred.
