Our culture promotes, recognizes, and values the role of staff as partners in an environment that attracts and fosters the highest quality staff. Interventional Radiology is a division within the department of Radiology. Our division is renowned for its long history of outstanding patient care, education and research. Many endovascular treatments were pioneered at Stanford including thrombolysis for deep venous thrombosis (DVT) and stent-graft repair of thoracic aortic aneurysms. Our group offers the entire range of vascular and nonvascular image-guided procedures. We are experts in the endovascular treatment of arterial disease from angioplasty and stenting of occluded blood vessels to endograft repair of aneurysms. For venous diseases, we offer state-of-the-art therapy for DVT, varicose veins, and chronic venous occlusion. In women's health, we offer a variety of services to alleviate pelvic pain including uterine artery embolization for the treatment of symptomatic fibroids and gonadal vein embolization for pelvic congestion syndrome.
