Job Overview:

  • Update template agreements with pertinent information.

  • Send out and ensure timely return of proposed licensed agreements

  • Follow up on royalty payments and reconciling royalty reports

  • Maintain customer database and files with new or updated information

  • Assist in implementing licensing strategy

  • Frequent contact with others outside the immediate work group and others in the industry outside client

  • Coordinate and manage delivery of intellectual property to licensees

  • Managing compliance of licensees

  • Identifying non-compliant products in the market (piracy)

  • Handle a variety of non-recurring special assignments

  • Other tasks as assigned by management


  • Ability to read, understand and interpret contracts

  • Ability to manage multiple contracts and tasks simultaneously

  • Above average verbal and written communication skills including the ability to give presentations

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint

  • Knowledge of Independent Automotive Aftermarket

  • High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult


  • Understanding of intellectual property licensing practices

  • Understanding of regulatory and legal requirements for service and parts information

  • Understanding Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association standards

  • Experience with Automotive Aftermarket (or similar) Licensing

  • Knowledge of automotive service and parts specific file formats

  • Supervisory Experience

  • Associates, Bachelor's Degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Depending on level of experience we can hire as Legal Secretary or Senior Legal Secretary. The position also assists in overall support of the office as needed and as assigned by the supervisor (e.g., scanning, case matching, mail, photocopying, limited filing, CD duplication, PDF compilation, file conversion, etc.). Duties include responsibility for the preparation and filing (both electronic and manual) of pleadings, motions, brief, orders, and discovery, extensive scheduling and calendar activity, ordering medical records, reviewing mail, preparing correspondence, processing invoices for payment, document production, data maintenance in company systems, and maintaining and operating within our electronic legal files. Duties also include interactions with clients, opposing counsel, Home Office, claims partners, and court personnel. * Must be able to work independently in a computer-based environment * Must be able to work with numerous county court systems * Must be capable of data entry across multiple systems * Must have strong organizational skills especially regarding prioritizing work for multiple attorneys * Must be able to manipulate electronic documents such as TIF, PDF and JPG formats * Must be able to work in a team-structured environment WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? * Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 5 plus years' experience as an assistant in a law office or corporate law department. * Insurance defense background required * Strong multi-tasking and time management skills * Personal injury experience required * Trial support experience is a plus * Experience working in a paperless environment preferred * Successful candidates will have experience in a high volume litigation environment that includes but is not limited to preparing pleadings and discovery, scheduling depositions, scheduling IMEs, ordering medical records, maintaining Outlook calendars, data maintenance, and client/claims/home office contact * Strong written and verbal communication skills WHAT ELSE CAN YOU TELL ME?
