PhD in Accounting. A Master's degree is acceptable (See Additional Requirements for information on Master's degree).
Position Summary
The J. M. Tull School of Accounting in the Terry College of Business at The University of Georgia invites applications for a non-tenure-track position at the lecturer level to teach financial accounting, managerial accounting, accounting information systems, and data analytics. The position will begin in the fall of 2024 with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2024.
Additional Requirements
Exceptions to the terminal degree requirement for appointments to professorial ranks may be made for individuals whose experience and accomplishments compensate for, or make irrelevant, the lack of a terminal degree. A request for an exception is subject to approval by the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost following receipt of supporting documentation and the recommendation of a dean. Candidates with a Master's degree must be approved for a terminal degree exception before hire.
Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, CIA, CISA).
The position is renewable based on performance and promotion to Senior Lecturer is possible after six years of service. Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification
Qualified candidates should have a background that includes teaching accounting at the college/university level and evidence of significant professional history.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Preference will be given to candidates with strong communication skills and the potential for excellent teaching.
