Purpose of Position
The Department of Economics and Finance in the Nistler College of Business and Public Administration (NCoBPA) at the University of North Dakota invites applications for a nine-month, non-tenure-track economics faculty position at the rank of full-time Lecturer starting fall semester, 2024. The primary responsibilities for this position are a teaching course load of 8 or 9 courses per academic year and service/outreach to the Department, College, and University and professional communities.
Duties & Responsibilities
Teaching
The successful candidate should expect to teach a 4-4 or 4-5 course load and should expect to teach undergraduate courses in Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics, Introduction to Business and Economic Statistics using traditional and online delivery methods; make positive contributions to the department, college, and university assignments. The Department seeks candidates with an instructional emphasis in Principles of Microeconomics and Business and Economic Statistics. The faculty is expected to work closely with undergraduate students.
Service
Service to the department, college, and university. Maintain Professional Qualifications required for Scholarly Practitioner (SP) or Instructional Practitioner (IP) as per AACSB and College guidelines
Required Competencies
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively communicate with students, coworkers, and various external groups.
Ability to work with and engage diverse students and colleagues within and outside of the Marketing department
Minimum Requirements
Master's degree in applied economics from an AACSB Accredited Program
Evidence of quality in undergraduate teaching in Principles of Microeconomics and Business and Economic Statistics and/or other introductory Economics courses.
Candidate must meet AACSB faculty qualifications according to the Nistler Faculty Handbook for IP or SP (initial or sustaining, depending on the candidate)
Successful completion of criminal history records check
