Job Description:

The Biology Department is home to numerous faculty and staff members dedicated to providing students with engaging and meaningful classes for future educators. We offer five programs at the undergraduate level, a BS/MS Multi-award Program, and a Master's in Biology Program.

KEY RESPONSBILITIES

Reporting to the Chair, the successful candidate will:

  • Teach courses in Immunology & Serology, Introduction to Clinical Sciences, Parasitology, and Hematology, general education courses for non-majors, an upper level elective, and/or introductory laboratory courses in Biology;

  • Oversee students in their clinical year, and aid in coordinating the MLS program;

  • Observe regular office hours and possibly provide academic advisement to students;

  • Contribute to curriculum development and refinement;

  • Provide academic advisement to students;

  • Participate in committees and provide service to the department, college, university, and profession;

  • Be aware of, understand, and follow all university policies.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Clinical experience in MLS and/or a Master's or higher degree in MLS or a relevant discipline;

  • Ability to teach Immunology & Serology, Introduction to Clinical Sciences, Parasitology, and Hematology.

  • Demonstrated commitment and ability to work with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff and constituents in support of campus and department mission;

  • Experience with instructional technology;

  • Demonstrated commitment to the university, division, and profession.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • University teaching experience;

  • Experience with instructional technology;

  • Interest in, and commitment to, community engagement.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time, temporary appointed, Lecturer position beginning Fall 2024, at an annual salary of $50,000.
