Position Summary
The Department of Marketing and Management at Indiana University South Bend invites applications for a Lecturer in Marketing. The teaching load will include undergraduate and/or graduate courses in advertising and marketing. IU South Bend lecturers are expected to teach twelve credit hours (typically four courses) each fall and spring. Faculty may also be required to teach evening, weekend, off-site, and/or online courses. The successful applicant will be expected to participate in service activities, such as regularly attending and participating in faculty meetings and serving on relevant committees. They will be expected to provide service to the department, school, campus, or community.
Summer teaching is voluntary and gets additional compensation. 10-month faculty may also work during June/July for non-IU entities for additional compensation subject to IU's conflict of interest policies.
The ideal candidate would be an industry professional who is interested in teaching at the college level. We are seeking a person who gets very motivated by student success and is experienced in the more popular advertising platforms like Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Hootsuite, etc. If your skills are different than these, feel free to check with us. If you have no college teaching experience, we can train you and provide you with excellent faculty development resources.

Qualifications
Required Minimum Qualifications
MBA or Masters (or higher) degree with a specialization in marketing, advertising, new media, communication, or a related field.
Should be able to effectively teach a variety of Advertising and Marketing courses.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Experience in working on or teaching of any part of the strategic marketing plans, integrated marketing communication plans, or social media plans.
Good knowledge of fields like digital marketing, digital advertising, search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), social media marketing, or e-commerce
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or Masters (or higher) degree in marketing or advertising from an AACSB (or equivalent) accredited business school
Three or more years of total work experience in marketing fields
Some working or teaching experience in fields like digital advertising or marketing.
Relevant certification(s) in digital advertising or marketing fields
Track record of working with diverse populations.
