Position Summary
The Department of Financial Planning, Housing and Consumer Economics at the University of Georgia invites applications for the position of Lecturer (nine months, academic appointment, non-tenure track, 100% teaching) in Financial Planning and Consumer Economics.
The faculty member will have a 100% Teaching nine-month, full time appointment in the Department of Financial Planning, Housing, and Consumer Economics, but will be expected to collaborate across campus on teaching and outreach. The primary teaching assignment for the individual filling this position will be 4 courses every semester.
These include teaching courses in financial planning and consumer economics. The hired faculty member will be expected to mentor undergraduate students, lead students to academic and professional conferences, student competitions, help with promoting and developing the financial planning program, and participate in departmental and collegiate governance and professional organizations, and pursue active membership in relevant professional organizations.
Additional Requirements
Expertise in the areas of financial planning and consumer economics.
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification
At least one degree in Family and Consumer Sciences is preferred. Demonstrated expertise in the areas of financial planning and consumer economics.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
The hired faculty should be knowledgeable of the CFP certification processes and standards.
