Lecturer, Digital Media And Design (2024-2025 AY) (Faculty Wage)

Unit Paid Faculty teach additional courses on an as needed basis

The University of Virginia Department of Drama seeks applications to fill a part-time, non-renewable, non-tenure track Lecturer position in Digital Media Design for Fall 2024 & Spring 2025. Preferred candidates will have expertise in projection and media design for live performance including theater, dance, and music performance. Course load will be one course per semester for the academic year with compensation of $6,000 per course.

Our department offers wide-ranging curricula in a liberal arts setting, emphasizing collaboration, social engagement, the integration of theory and practice, and the development of theater as artistic expression and critical inquiry. Qualifications:

• A Master's degree is required

• Terminal degree in theater or a related field of study, or equivalent professional experience is preferred

• Prior university-level teaching experience is preferred

• Demonstrated commitment to advancing inclusive excellence through teaching

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
