Lecturer, Counseling (Term)

Summary of Position

Teaches master level counseling courses, advises students, and engages in professional service contributing to the successful operation of the Counseling Program to develop licensed professional counselors and related professionals who can serve the needs within our community.This type of annual appointment is issued to a faculty member who is responsible for teaching with no expectations for scholarship or research, and minimal expectations for service.

Position Information

Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Work Schedule:Typically, Monday through Friday, including some evenings, and the possibility of some weekend days.

Qualifications and Competencies

Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures:Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)in Ohio to be obtained and maintained upon hire.

Minimum Qualifications:At least an earned doctoral degree in counselor education from a CACREP-accredited program by the time of appointment. Eligible for licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Ohio. Documented professional counselor identity by education, experience, and professional affiliations(e.g., Association for Counselor Education and Supervision or Chi Sigma Iota, International Honor Society).

Preferred Qualifications:Licensed, or eligibility for licensure, as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in Ohio. Evidence of contributions to scholarship and professional service in counseling.

Experience and/or licensure in more than one counseling program track specialty area. Experience teaching graduate level courses.
