Lecturer of Marketing

The E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position in marketing, beginning Fall 2024.

The individual hired for this position will be responsible for teaching and service. Teaching responsibilities will include social media marketing (at both the undergraduate and graduate level) and digital marketing, in addition to one of the following: marketing principles, international marketing, international business, or sales.

The teaching load for a Lecturer is typically five courses per semester and may include face-to-face, hybrid and/or online deliveries. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the position will also involve service engagement within the department, college, and/or university, including advising undergraduate students and contributing to assessment of student learning outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have at least a master's degree from an AACSB or regionally- accredited institution in marketing or a related discipline. Candidates should have significant professional experience and expertise qualifying them to teach social media marketing and digital marketing, in addition to one of the following: marketing principles, international marketing, international business, or sales. Relevant professional experience, significant in duration and level of responsibility, must be current at the time of hire, and maintenance of professional qualification is required.

Evidence of collegiate teaching experience is preferred. Exemplary teachers who have experience using innovative and active learning approaches are especially encouraged to apply. Candidates must have the ability to interact effectively with colleagues, the department, college, campus, community, and professional organizations.

The Marketing and Hospitality Resort Tourism Management department serves more than 720 majors and over 180 minors across two areas of marketing and hospitality. Regional outreach is accomplished through activities of the Center for Real Estate and Economic Development, the Clay Brittain Jr. Center for Resort Tourism, the Community and Business Engagement Institute, and others.

Required Qualifications

Must have completed 18 graduate hours in the relevant discipline, hold a master's degree or meet the established alternative qualifications, and exhibit strong potential for excellence in teaching. Maintain currency in academic discipline.
