Lecturer of Accounting

College of Business Administration at Coastal Carolina University, in Conway, South Carolina invites applications for a full-time lecturer position in the D. Wyatt Henderson Department of Accounting beginning August 2024.

The individual hired for this position will be responsible for teaching and service. The department seeks an individual with the credentials to teach undergraduate courses in Accounting.

Classes may include Financial Accounting Principles, Managerial Accounting Principles, Taxation, Governmental, and other accounting courses depending on departmental needs. The teaching load for a Lecturer is typically five courses per semester and may include face-to-face, hybrid and/or online deliveries. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the position will also involve service engagement within the department, college, and/or university, including advising undergraduate students and contributing to assessment of student learning outcomes.

A Master's degree from an AACSB-accredited or regionally accredited institution in business or a related field, with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Accounting is required. The ideal candidate will hold an active CPA license at the time of hire.

Candidates should have the expertise and experience, significant in duration and level of responsibility, qualifying them to teach one or more of the following topics: financial accounting, managerial accounting, taxation, governmental accounting. Relevant professional experience must be current at the time of hire and the successful candidate will be required to maintain their professional qualification. Applicants must have abilities, skills and enthusiasm for teaching excellence and instructional innovation.

Evidence of effective collegiate teaching experience is preferred. Candidates must have the ability to interact effectively with colleagues in the department, college, campus, community, and professional organizations.

Required Qualifications

Licensure and/or Certification
