Job Title Lecturer, Assistant Director of Athletic Bands Department Marching Band - 21512 Pay Grade 1 Job Category Faculty Job Summary
ETSU is accepting applications for an Assistant Director of Athletic Bands. This is a twelve-month lecturer (non-tenure) appointment. Selected candidate must be able to teach additional courses, which may include instrumental music education or applied lessons.
Responsibilities include:
Assist the Director of Athletic Bands with instruction and administration of the ETSU Marching Buccaneers
Direct and administer Buccaneer Brass - the pep band for Men's and Women's basketball
Collaborate with band faculty and applied instrumental faculty in all aspects of a comprehensive band program including recruitment, teaching, conducting, and administration
Work during Winter and Spring Breaks for basketball games is required.
Work on weekends and evenings for marching band and basketball games is required.
The selected candidate must be able to teach additional courses, which may include instrumental music education or applied lessons. Applicants should address other areas of teaching interest in the cover letter and reference relevant experience as listed on the CV.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent communication and organization skills.
Drill design for marching bands
Knowledge of game flow for Division 1 football and basketball.
Heavy lifting will be involved.
Ability to drive a large equipment truck is necessary.
Required Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a large, comprehensive university band program and active involvement with highly visible athletic bands.
Demonstrated experience with marching and pep bands at the collegiate level.
Drill design experience and/or marching band arranging.
Salary $40,000 per year
