Who we're looking for

Toyota's Human Resources Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Sr. LOAA Analyst.

Reporting to the LOAA Supervisor, the primary responsibility of this role is to manage the leave of absence (STD, LOA, FMLA, Workers' Comp, etc.) and accommodation processes in partnership with TFS' leave of absence third party providers (where applicable). Cases will be analyzed by the LOAA Specialist on an individualized, case-by-case basis to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.

What you'll be doing

  • Exercise discretionary judgement and critical assessment skills when analyzing cases on an individualized, case-by-case basis, (especially when situations have overlapping and conflicting laws which are unsettled at times) to make case outcome recommendations to the business, LOAA Supervisor, HRG/HRC's, and/or inside and outside legal counsel.

  • Identify and develop innovative suggestions to improve efficiency, effectiveness, internal controls, and/or customer service in the LOAA process.

  • Demonstrate knowledge and awareness of compliance policies, procedures and regulations affecting day to day LOAA responsibilities. Develop LOAA SOP's and ensure active SOP's remain up-to-date.

  • Ensure administration of leave by vendors is done properly and timely in accordance with pre-determined service levels.

  • Serve as subject matter expert on TFS' Leave of Absence and ADA policies and mentor and provide day-to-day support to the LOAA Contingent(s).

What you bring

  • 3 years of experience managing STD/LTD, FMLA/CFRA, ADA, Worker's Compensation in a high-volume environment preferred.

  • Demonstrated skills required in the areas of negotiation, problem solving, and conflict resolution.

  • Proven professional level communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all levels of team members.

  • Must possess a strong preference for automating processes over manual solutions.

  • Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment with minimal supervision.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, Psychology or a related discipline preferred; paid professional-level work experience equivalent to a BS degree required.

Job Summary: The Leave of Absence Coordinator is responsible for supporting all employee leave of absence matters including FMLA, short term and long term disability. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Primary purpose: The Leave of Absence Coordinator will oversee all aspects of Family Medical Leaves of Absence. * Analyzes FMLA claims to determine eligibility and certification in compliance with state and federal regulations. * Coordinates and works closely with the CRST third party administrator for leave management. * Third part administrator coordinates all cases/claims to include general administration, comprehensive case management and program compliance with FMLA and all related employment laws. * With the aid of 3rd party administrator for leave management, tracks employee hours regarding leave and coordinates all aspects of employees' return to work. * Coordinates support for all employee leave of absence matters to include short term and long term disability. * Conducts initial investigations of alleged fraudulent activity of all leave cases. * With the aid of 3rd part administrator for leave management, creates reporting metrics and analytics for all employee leave. * Assists in the creation and facilitation of leave administration training programs. * Provides guidance to management, employees, and Human Resources Business Partners on all forms of leave of absence cases includes answering questions over the phone, email or in person. * Generates and distributes written and verbal information to inform executive staff, managers/supervisors and HR Business Partners, Payroll of leave eligibility and status. * Serves as a subject matter expert and coordinator for the leave programs, to include aspects of disability retirement and/or claims. * Responds to unemployment claims, and monitors/audits the Unemployment Insurance statement of charges. * Identifies action plan; determines benefits due; and makes timely case decisions based on service expectations as established by the client. * Performs other duties as assigned. * Supports the organization's quality program(s). Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or Public Administration. * 2 -4 years of experience in Human Resource managing Leave Administration managing leave accommodation cases. * Also requires experience with data analytics and advanced Excel experience to include pivot tables, v-lookup, and creating formulas ect. Skills and Knowledge: * Knowledge of state and federal FMLA regulations * Knowledge of medical disability management * Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills * PC literate, including Microsoft Office products * Analytical and interpretive skills * Strong organizational skills * Excellent interpersonal skills * Ability to work in a team environment * Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies Supplemental Information: Knowledge and Skills: Considerable knowledge of Federal and State Employment laws and Leave laws; considerable knowledge of the ADAAA; knowledge of medical disability management; current knowledge of integrated disability and absence management practices; knowledge of HRIS systems and experience with Microsoft Office; Must have a solid understanding of FMLA and employment.
