Job Purpose:

This position will be responsible for completing daily, weekly, monthly and annual tasks in order to maintain and book new equipment finance agreements (EFAs) and lease contracts. Will assist in the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statement closing process, reporting requirements and related internal controls. Will be responsible for the research of transactions and/or reconciliation of items. Will be responsible for cross training to ensure proper coverage of duties within the department. Will apply critical and analytical thinking skills related to generally accepted accounting standards.

Job Duties:

  • Will be responsible for completing daily, weekly, monthly and annual tasks in order to maintain and book new equipment finance agreements (EFAs) and lease contracts.

  • Perform daily administration of EFA and lease transactions in InfoLease (the software used to account for the company's EFAs and leases). This includes booking new contracts, applying customer payments and disposing of contracts when they are paid in full.

  • Will be responsible for filing Uniform Commercial Codes (UCCs) for new leases. Will maintain and terminate UCCs upon leases being paid in full.

  • Will be responsible for preparing and booking daily journal entries to the Peoplesoft general ledger.

  • Will apply critical and analytical thinking skills to generally accepted accounting standards.

  • Will assist with the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statement closing process and related internal controls.

  • Will provide assistance to the payment and collections team which includes processing both credit card and one-time payments and administering customer information in InfoLease.

  • Will coordinate insurance premium charges with the third-party insurance provider for the purposes of meeting insurance requirements on the contracts.

  • Will perform special projects as assigned.

Education, Job Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or related field or equivalent work experience.

  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles from either practical work experience or accounting coursework.

  • Must be able to work independently under general instruction/supervision in completion of current assignments and new tasks assigned (must be able to complete assigned work accurately and timely with general direction).

  • Must have or develop an above average knowledge of assigned areas of responsibility, understand and observe the need for internal controls, and cross train within the department.

  • Demonstrate an above average ability to navigate systems, software, and an understanding of policies and procedures (develop understanding of where information is located, how to obtain, and use in efficient manner).

  • Proven ability to plan and organize resources to achieve goals.

  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles from either practical work experience or accounting coursework.

  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel.

  • Must be detailed oriented.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills - team members, peers, and management.

  • Able to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced and changing work environment.

  • Proven ability to plan and organize resources to achieve goals.

  • Continue professional development through self-training, participation in recommended courses, job related in-house training, seminars, and/or professional certifications.

  • Developed listening, problem solving, and time management skills.

  • Must be composed under pressure and demonstrate ability to effectively handle conflict.

  • Must be a team player.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent work experience.

  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles from either practical work experience or accounting coursework.
