Position Summary

Under the Supervision of the Production Foreman or Superintendent, the Lease Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient and environmentally sound operation of lease equipment, production facilities. This position is also responsible for production and injection well operations including routine maintenance of equipment and maintenance of the locations to company standards. Schedules will be assigned as needed by foremen which will include OT, night & day work schedules.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the safe, efficient and environmentally sound operation of lease equipment, production facilities.

  • Perform basic pumping skills to include: tank gauging, the proper operation of 3 phase separators, line heaters, and all associated valves, and oil seals and seal records.

  • Responsible for production and injection Well operations (if trained) including routine maintenance of equipment and maintenance of the locations to company standards.

  • Accurately complete Well tests, meter readings and production and injection reports.

  • Keep down time and operating costs to a minimum and oil production marketable.

  • Utilize appropriate safety equipment and ensure that all company policy, procedures, governmental regulations, etc. are adhered to.

  • Monitor production and sales of crude oil.

  • Regulate flow of oil from Wells to storage tanks and pipelines or transport trucks.

  • Regulate chemical pumps to treat oil to marketable conditions.

  • Monitor inject Well volumes, rates and pressure and makes necessary adjustments to maximize flow.

  • Maintain daily, weekly and monthly production reports.

  • Performs minor repairs on surface production and injection equipment under supervision.

  • Manage fluid inventory on production facilities.

  • Must be able and willing to work under supervision may trained Lease Operators or Leads.

  • Work long hours and overtime as needed, but limited to company policy.

  • Follows guidelines on surface safety equipment and report malfunctions of equipment.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Employee must have a valid driver's license.

  • Understand and safely operate pigging facilities.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of safe work behavior and habits.

  • Adequate computer skills to work with various computer programs.

  • Ability to lift 80lbs, maneuver heavy objects and operate machinery.

  • Secures and maintains all BBC-issued equipment, including but not limited to computers, vehicles and analysis of test equipment.

  • Ability to walk on uneven surfaces.

  • Ability to write legibly and intelligently.

  • Ability to read and follow directions.

  • Operate a vehicle safely (in all weather conditions) to drive to oil & gas equipment locations located in rural/open range country.

  • Work will be performed in hazardous driving and working conditions in all seasons of the year.

  • Basic electrical skills & safe working practices related to high voltage systems on facilities.

  • Understand the safe operation of valves and facilities operating under high pressure/temperature.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Training:

To be provided by company EH&S personnel

Experience:
0-2 years Oil/Gas Production and Optimization experience.

Under general supervision, this position prepares, maintains, and submits daily reports and records of daily gas and/or liquid volume, well pressure and volume of chemicals used, etc. Ensure quality control and safe operations during all aspects of the operation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Duties may include the following: (other duties may be assigned) * Perform basic to intermediate level pumping skills which include but not limited to: tank gauging, the proper operation of heater/treaters and 3 phase separators, and all attendant valve and oil seals and seal records. Identify potential problems * Maintain oil and water tank battery equipment to ensure efficiency of oil and gas production * Monitor control panels during operations in order to ensure that all equipment if functioning correctly * Assist in basic repair and maintenance * Document and record accurate details relating to maintenance and emissions, ensuring compliance with regulations and protocols * Responsible for flow and maintenance of wells which includes daily gauges, troubleshooting and performing maintenance on equipment as required * Perform work in a manner that ensures the secure and environmentally safe operation of all wells and leases for which the pumper is responsible * Witness gauging and tests, ensuring accuracy of run tickets as required * Prepare, maintain and submit reports and records of daily gas volumes, well tests and injection readings * Ensure route is operated and maintained to maximum potential by working diligently with peers, optimizing productivity * Must be self-motivated, strong ethics, ability to work with minimum supervision, have reliable attendance and demonstrate flexible cooperative behavior in the workplace Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty adequately.
