Under the Supervision of the Production Foreman or Superintendent, the Lease Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient and environmentally sound operation of lease equipment, production facilities. This position is also responsible for production and injection well operations including routine maintenance of equipment and maintenance of the locations to company standards. Schedules will be assigned as needed by foremen which will include OT, night & day work schedules.
Responsible for the safe, efficient and environmentally sound operation of lease equipment, production facilities.
Perform basic pumping skills to include: tank gauging, the proper operation of 3 phase separators, line heaters, and all associated valves, and oil seals and seal records.
Responsible for production and injection Well operations (if trained) including routine maintenance of equipment and maintenance of the locations to company standards.
Accurately complete Well tests, meter readings and production and injection reports.
Keep down time and operating costs to a minimum and oil production marketable.
Utilize appropriate safety equipment and ensure that all company policy, procedures, governmental regulations, etc. are adhered to.
Monitor production and sales of crude oil.
Regulate flow of oil from Wells to storage tanks and pipelines or transport trucks.
Regulate chemical pumps to treat oil to marketable conditions.
Monitor inject Well volumes, rates and pressure and makes necessary adjustments to maximize flow.
Maintain daily, weekly and monthly production reports.
Performs minor repairs on surface production and injection equipment under supervision.
Manage fluid inventory on production facilities.
Must be able and willing to work under supervision may trained Lease Operators or Leads.
Work long hours and overtime as needed, but limited to company policy.
Follows guidelines on surface safety equipment and report malfunctions of equipment.
Knowledge & Skills:
Employee must have a valid driver's license.
Understand and safely operate pigging facilities.
Demonstrate knowledge of safe work behavior and habits.
Adequate computer skills to work with various computer programs.
Ability to lift 80lbs, maneuver heavy objects and operate machinery.
Secures and maintains all BBC-issued equipment, including but not limited to computers, vehicles and analysis of test equipment.
Ability to walk on uneven surfaces.
Ability to write legibly and intelligently.
Ability to read and follow directions.
Operate a vehicle safely (in all weather conditions) to drive to oil & gas equipment locations located in rural/open range country.
Work will be performed in hazardous driving and working conditions in all seasons of the year.
Basic electrical skills & safe working practices related to high voltage systems on facilities.
Understand the safe operation of valves and facilities operating under high pressure/temperature.
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
To be provided by company EH&S personnel
0-2 years Oil/Gas Production and Optimization experience.
