This position is currently located in Westlake near Barton Creek Mall on S Capital of Texas Highway. The position will be relocating to our new Headquarters building in North Austin towards the beginning of 2020. The location will be in Research Park and is located near Oak Knoll & 183.

We are looking for two Learning and Development (L&D) Specialists to join our newly created L&D Department. This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly-formed and evolving team under the direction of our Assistant Vice President of Learning & Development. Together, the three of you will partner to build our training curriculum and learning solutions from the ground up.
Your initial responsibilities will be to identify, create, implement and deliver training programs for UHCU staff. You will also consult and collaborate with key business partners and stakeholders to help identify organization needs and enhance employee performance. You will design and facilitate instructor led frontline functional training to new hires and current credit union staff in a business professional environment. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and presentation skills, the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and work effectively in an ambiguous environment.
As a Learning & Development Specialist with UHCU you will:
Design, develop and deliver job-focused, functional new hire training for all new branch operations staff including the creating of training manuals, student workbooks, examinations, job aids, stimulating slide decks and additional study resources.
Develop, schedule and conduct new-employee orientation for all newly hired UHCU staff.
Develop and manage the new-employee on-boarding program including feedback loops, mentoring program, on the job training and job shadowing in conjunction with classroom training.
Design, develop and deliver training for credit union staff on topics as member services, regulatory compliance, product knowledge, operational procedures, technical skills and sales/service skills as needed to supplement or reinforce previous training.
Monitor and update UHCU materials as needed to ensure compliance with current processes, procedures, regulatory guidelines and adult learning best practices to ensure training accuracy and effectiveness.
Conduct branch and department visits regularly to assess additional training needs and to ensure the effectiveness of existing training programs.
Track and record all training activities in the UHCU LMS and prepare training reports as requested.
Remain current with all UHCU policies, procedures and technologies as well as current practices and emerging trends in adult learning to ensure consistency of best practices in educational and developmental programs.
What you will need to succeed:
Ability to travel often to branch locations around the Austin area (50%+), and work some evenings and Saturdays as required.
Excellent written and oral communication skills necessary to clearly and logically present information to groups of employees at all levels of the credit union.
Self-directed, highly motivated and ability to set priorities with minimal supervision.
Ability to multi-task, effectively prioritizing and executing tasks in a fast-paced environment, under sometimes tight deadlines.
Strong knowledge of and willingness to keep abreast of new instructional design principles, adult learning and learning technologies.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees in a professional environment.
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred.
2 to 3 years' recent experience presenting to groups of adult learners in a professional business environment required; and 2-3 years' experience creating or modifying training materials required.
3 to 5 years' experience with MS Suite, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
Demonstrated proficiency in identifying training needs, and creatively and quickly designing solutions for skills gaps required.
3 or more years' experience delivering formal classroom training to adults strongly preferred.
3 or more years' experience creating formal instructor led training curriculum strongly preferred.
Experience with eLearning design preferred, especially Storyline 2 or Articulate 360.
Banking or financial services experience preferred.
CPLP or similar certification preferred.
