HomeAway is seeking a Learning & Development (L&D)Intern to join our Human Resources team next summer. You will develop training content and deliver group as well as individual instruction and training toHomeAway employees. You will support all aspects of ongoing L&D programs atHomeAway and will learn from experienced team members. You will focus on one key L&D project from start to finish- developing and refining curriculum and exercises, creating and managing the training project plan, and then executing on the training. You will work with key partners across departments to understand learning needs and opportunities for new programs. You will also create eLearning courses for existing in-person courses.

Who you are:

  • Our Ideal Intern:

  • You are currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree

  • You have at least six months of experience as a trainer, an educator, or in a related field

  • You are experienced and comfortable with public speaking

  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills

  • You have demonstrated organizational and program management skills

  • If you have experience planning events or programs, that is a plus

BASIC FUNCTION: This position is responsible for developing and executing corporate and divisional strategic initiatives by analyzing performance gaps and learning needs; creating program or program and/or curricula-level design strategy documents, and leading teams involved in designing effective and efficient learning strategies and deliverables for HCM Learning & Development's (L&D) clinical operations end-learner populations through Instructor-Led, Web-Based, and blended solutions. Responsible for initiating and leading teams that consult with customers and internal workgroups and design, deliver learning solutions; the creation, execution and management of communication plans, planning, execution and completion of project management activities related to complex, strategic learning strategies; and the development of evaluation of learning and business outcomes. JOB REQUIREMENTS: * Bachelor Degree and 5 years of learning and development (instructional design, performance consulting, and/or development) experience OR 9 years of learning and development (instructional design, performance consulting, and/or development) experience. * Experience leading a team in the design, delivery, development, documentation, and evaluation of learning solutions. * Experience with Learning Management Systems to include scripting/coding and course packaging for publication. * Experience working with multiple internal and external customers, senior management, SMEs. * Knowledge of adult learning theories and/or emerging instructional design trends in the industry. * Clear and concise verbal and written communications skills. * Technical aptitude and analytical skills. * Sound inductive and deductive reasoning skills. PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS: * Master degree in Human Resource Development, Organizational Development or Instructional Design. * 3 years or more experience managing learning projects, divisional/large-scale initiatives, or similar. * Experience managing and facilitating live learning events. * 3 years or more learning and development experience in the managed care or healthcare industries.
