Here's a Glimpse of the Job

As a Learning and Curricular Services Librarian (Assistant) specializing in business information literacy, you will participate in a new team of librarians dedicated to building library programs that enhance student success. We need a librarian that is creative, dynamic, and learning-centered to contribute to our growing library instruction program. You would be working collaboratively with other learning librarians in your unit and with librarians across the organization to strategically further the educational mission of the University Libraries and the university. Business, Social Sciences, or Finance literacy librarians are especially encouraged to apply. New graduates, as well as public and school librarians are also encouraged to apply. Your degree must be awarded prior to your start date.

Opportunities to Contribute

  • Learning and Curricular Support
  • Provide information literacy instruction, assignment redesign, learning assessment, and online education. Coordinate/participate in special projects related to curricular integration of library materials, programs, and services.
  • Collaborations & Advocacy
  • Work on a specific team of librarians to support business information literacy.
  • Consultation Services
  • Provide reference and instructional consultations for students and faculty that contribute to student learning and success.
  • Professional Development and Contributions
  • Participate in professional organizations and scholarly activities in order to incorporate creative ideas and technologies into library services and programs.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Library Science or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • No additional education required

A well-qualified candidate for these positions will also possess:

  • Master's degree from an American Library Association accredited program

  • Ability to communicate effectively with groups and present content to large groups of people

  • Coursework or experience in information literacy instruction, instructional design, lesson planning, creating learning outcomes and assessments, and/or working with faculty on assignment re-design

  • Adaptability and willingness to learn

  • Demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment to student success services and programs

  • Coursework or experience in reference and/or instructional consultation services

  • Coursework or experience with pedagogy and learning theories

  • Experience evaluating teaching and/or library services and programs

  • Knowledge of academic library resources and services

  • Experience working with learning technologies and library programs

  • Ability to conduct reference interviews and consultation services for students and faculty

Minimum Starting Salary: $5,241.67 per month

  • Compensation and classification are based on the analyses of the above qualifications during the recruitment process.
