Global Procurement and Third Party Management is looking for an experienced Training and Development Program leader to drive an overall training strategy and to map out and develop training content and materials. The successful candidate will have the ability to develop tools and processes to best deploy effective and repeatable training across the organization, as well as strategies to imbed training into multiple processes and drive consistent quality standards. This role conducts training needs assessments; builds a business case for new training programs; and evaluates and modifies training programs as required. The positions objective is to increase competencies and performance of staff at all levels of GPTPM with an emphasis on leadership development and management fundamentals.
Training program elements may include instructor-led training, eLearning, job aides, on-the-job training, and the use of social media. Candidate should also possess technical proficiency at using rapid authoring tools to create engaging and effective eLearning coursework. Candidates for this position should look forward to working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, and must be a highly skilled communicator and a motivated self-starter.
Duties and Responsibilities
Identifies and assesses current and future training needs for the organization, while deploying a wide variety of training methods that build on overall as well as individualized training plans
Develops an overall and individual training plans that address needs and expectations
Enhances employees' skills, performance, productivity and quality of work
Monitors and evaluates training program effectiveness, success and ROI periodically and provides regular reports
Resolves any specific issues and tailors training programs as necessary
Maintains a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices
Confers with management and stakeholders across GPTPM to gain knowledge of work situations that require training and to better understand how policy changes, procedure changes, and business initiatives may require a training intervention
Works in collaboration with subject matter experts, managers, and project teams to identify and analyze learning and performance needs
Creates training design documents that clearly communicate learning strategies to address needs, including content outlines, flow diagrams, technical specifications, and resource/reference documents
Supports the prioritization and governance processes for the training initiatives portfolio
Designs and develops blended training programs that include dynamic, engaging instructional interactions and simulations
Works with subject matter experts to build content effectively and quickly
Ensures learning and performance objectives are appropriate to the audience and that the training programs developed meet the learning and performance objectives
Designs, develops and implements a multi-level evaluation strategy and analyze evaluation outcomes for all training products
Works on multiple projects concurrently, monitor activity, progress, and time related to project development
Partners with Cigna U and consultants to leverage available resources and to ensure consistent quality across the organization
Partners with Knowledge Management to develop an effective document management process for organizing and retaining project related source files, scheduling periodic courses reviews for any updates needed, scheduling the expiration of training courses, tracking documentation, and version control of all revisions/updates
Monitors and reports effectiveness of all training conducted and revise courses as needed
Conducts needs assessments as required to identify how training can drive ongoing performance improvement across the organization
Bachelor's degree required, Masters in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Adult Learning Theory, or related field preferred
3+ years of relevant related work experience required
Experience managing all phases of the Instructional Design process from assessment through the ongoing evaluation of effectiveness
Demonstrated ability to design and develop training content
Working knowledge of e-learning development tools such as Adobe eLearning Suite, Articulate eLearning software, Camtasia, and Microsoft Office tools
Proficient in the use of an enterprise-wide learning management system (LMS) to upload, test, and deliver course content and training programs
Ability to effectively work on multiple projects with multiple stakeholders
Strong interpersonal, presentation, and facilitation skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong editing, proofreading and formatting skills
Knowledge of health care a plus
Ability to work under pressure and flexible hours
Potential travel up to 25% of the time
