Learning and Development Partner - Hybrid Opportunity
Position Reports to: VP of Human Resources
JOB SUMMARY:
A Learning and Development Partner is responsible for collaborating with various teams within an organization to identify training needs, develop learning strategies, and implement programs that enhance the skills and knowledge of employees. They work closely with HR, department heads, and subject matter experts to create learning solutions that align with business goals and improve overall performance. Key responsibilities will include conducting needs assessments, designing curriculum, delivering training sessions, evaluating program effectiveness, and continuously improving learning initiatives based on feedback and results. Additionally, they may oversee the use of learning management systems (LMS) and other tools to administer and track training activities across the organization. A successful Learning and Development Partner combines strong interpersonal skills with a deep understanding of adult learning principles and organizational development to foster a culture of continuous learning and growth.
Responsibilities:
This role will be instrumental in managing and implementing learning and development programs and supporting other key strategic learning and onboarding initiatives across the organization with a strong focus on content, operations, and program design
Partner with stakeholders to formulate training outlines and determine instructional methods, utilizing knowledge of specified training needs and effectiveness of such methods as individual training, group instruction, micro-learnings, just-in-time, or videos
Develop new hire learning strategies and curriculum in alignment with organization priorities
Leverage facilitation skills to lead high-impact, effective, and engaging learning experiences for colleagues
Event coordination and support including organization, registration, logistics, and communications
Assist in creating, organizing and conducting live/virtual training sessions as needed, particularly those focused on engagement, performance, wellbeing, leadership/manager training, onboarding, and succession
Assess training needs and effectiveness through surveys, interviews and focus groups
Partner with other members of the HR team to create and enhance programs
Track and report on key metrics to measure effectiveness and impact of learning programs
Assist with LMS administration duties including data entry, reporting, and handling technical issues
Researching and staying current with emerging trends and technologies in the learning and development field
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Education, or a related field preferred
3-5+ years of related work experience in a learning & development role (e.g. L&D specialist, training specialist, LMS administrator, applying adult learning principles with a focus on professional development, career development, leadership development, coaching, and/or performance management)
Cornerstone On-Demand experience preferred
Passionate about employee engagement and culture
Strong facilitation skills and can easily engage an audience
Exceptional project management skills, possessing both operational rigor and orientation to detail
Comfortable with learning technology and on-demand learning to enhance, support and track the onboarding experience
Ability to compile, analyze and articulate data effectively
Experience collaborating across the organization and influence partners to achieve results
Ability to prioritize workload and effectively balance competing priorities in order to meet ambitious deadlines
Strong interpersonal communication skills and cross-functional collaboration
Strong background in Microsoft Excel and Word
Ability to work independently and with minimal training/oversight
Must have strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently under pressure and subject to changing priorities
A professional certification, such as Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), is an added advantage.\
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal busy office environment with much telephone work. Occasional overtime, evening and/or weekend work.
