Applied Materials is seeking a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt to drive optimization and accuracy of the semiconductor product configuration process. This role will lead complex improvement initiatives in a matrixed, cross-functional business environment. Key areas of focus will include the product configuration process, management of non-standard requests, and configuration change management culminating in an accurate bill of materials.
Guide Champions in project selection and scope, assuring linkage between projects and business and customer priorities.
Conduct a current-state assessment of business processes and identification of improvement opportunities. Based on this assessment, design, implement, and manage process improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
Facilitate groups through process mapping, root cause analysis, brainstorming, business impact assessments, gap analysis, and project planning.
Train, mentor and coach Champions, Black Belts and Green Belts in the use of Six Sigma tools and methodology to ensure timely completion of projects with expected client results.
Understand data trends and drive quantified results by designing and deploying analytical systems and processes.
Develop rigorous control plans, communications, risk assessments and maintenance of documentation.
Employ project/program management skills related to overall project tracking, deliverables management, action item tracking, meeting minutes, team communications, and presentations. Keep stakeholders apprised of project status and defined deliverables.
Champion change management across all levels of the organization and prioritize areas of improvement.
Comply with all IP guidelines.
Comply with all safety procedures and consistently demonstrate safety as a value.
Direct experience with demonstrated success and financial results leading Six Sigma transactional & manufacturing projects
Technical mastery of Six Sigma tools and methodologies including DMAIC, DFSS, and Lean
Effective change agent, able to implement strategic initiatives in an organization
Must possess effective project management skills and ability to influence at all levels of an organization
Knowledge of equipment configuration utilizing a product structure tree
Familiar with long- and short-range supply chain forecasting
Utilize benchmarking to identify best practices, both internal and external to the organization.
Aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
Comfortable presenting findings and recommendations to key executives.
Semiconductor industry experience preferred.
Ability to lead and influence others within a matrix organization.
Lead strategic projects while managing risk and resource requirements.
Ability to effectively coach and mentor Champions, Process Owners and Black Belts.
Resolves obstacles/roadblocks; serves as a sounding board for problem resolution.
Explains difficult or sensitive information in an easy-to-understand manner; works to build consensus.
Excellent interpersonal/communication and presentation skills.
Adept at observing, assessing and helping team members recognize areas for development.
Develops strong rapport with those they mentor.
Bachelor's Degree required (Business/Engineering/Supply Chain)
Master's Degree preferred
Master Black Belt certification required
10+ Years of professional experience required
5+ Years of Continuous Improvement experience required
