The Lean Six Sigma Expert supports the continuous Improvement function of Olympus Corporation of the Americas (OCA) by reviewing and documenting complex cross-functional business processes to assist subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify opportunities for clarification, simplification, and improvement. He/ She coordinates with other members of the Project Management team to support execution on improvement opportunities where appropriate.

Job Duties:

As an Olympus Lean Six Sigma Expert working on the Continuous Improvement team, you will be empowered and inspired to do your best work. You will contribute to our mission by leading strategic improvement projects, mentoring and training employees, and contributing to the overall success of the program. In a typical day, you will:

  • Assist functional SMEs to understand, develop and document complex cross-functional business processes using flowcharts and other process documentation following a consistent methodology.

  • Adhere to the consistent implementation of process documentation tools and methodologies, and trains subject matter experts on these techniques/tools as appropriate.

  • Work with other Business Process Analysts and key stakeholders in process redesign.

  • Support activities to optimize end-to-end process designs by continually searching for ways to identify solutions.

  • Mentor and train Business Process Analysts in lean six sigma techniques to broaden knowledge base and awareness of best practices.

  • Work with Project Management team colleagues to support process components of larger projects as required.

  • Work with Project Management team colleagues to seek support for subject matter experts to implement identified improvement opportunities as appropriate.

  • Performs other relevant duties, as assigned.

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in business process management, business administration, supply chain management, logistics, finance, computer science or related discipline.

  • Certification in lean, 6-sigma, or comparable process analysis and improvement techniques/tools

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience inclusive of at least 3 years of experience applying lean, 6-sigma or comparable process analysis and improvement techniques/tools in professional environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient with Minitab, SPSS, JMP or other statistical analysis software.

  • Proficient with MS-Visio, iGrafx or other process mapping and modeling software.

  • Experience working with SAP and Sales Force Dot Com environments.

  • Ability and intellectual curiosity to learn new businesses and processes quickly.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong desire to succeed and to facilitate the success of others.

  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities Position Summary: Manages the commercialization aspects of key new products with responsibility for driving collaboration of cross-functional product commercial teams. Plays a key role in pioneering and establishing the culture of project management within the product commercialization process of Aesculap. The ability to organize, lead and motivate people toward the achievement of a common goal is a primary requirement for the position. Acts as the internal liaison between, marketing, manufacturing, RA/QA, sales management and engineering for the purpose of scheduling projects, driving the timely launch of projects, budgeting resources, and reporting on the progress of several projects that are simultaneously being prepared for commercialization. Additionally, engages externally with outside partners, such as Aesculap parent organization and testing laboratories, in conjunction with marketing, manufacturing, RA/QA, sales management and engineering to support commercialization efforts. Generally has no direct reports but will, on a specific project basis, direct efforts of engineers, technicians, designers and outside consultants. Responsibilities: Essential Duties * Lead, manage and monitor the projects to achieve results according to the approved plan and time, cost and quality parameters. * Collaborates and cultivates cross departmental relationships and competencies necessary for the successful commercialization of targeted projects. * Define, coordinate and manage commercialization project team. * Develops and maintains detailed project schedules and budgets for assigned projects * Establish a clear stakeholder communication plan and provide executive level project summaries and deliver senior level status presentations. * Assists in the creation of accurate forecasts for products and works cross functionally to ensure the delivery of those forecasts.   * Facilitate the identification of project issues and align with program sponsors and stakeholders to bring forward a proposed risk mitigation action plan with options for resolution. * Negotiate the allocation of resources to support the endorsed project plan * Ensures design control requirements are met for project. * Assists in improving and revising existing commercialization procedures and processes. * Must comply with applicable ISO and FDA regulations as stated in Quality Manual * Must embody the Company's Vision, Mission and Values * Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
