  • The Portfolio Manager facilitates decision-making and financial accountability for the products and solutions in a portfolio

  • Plan and monitor IT budgets to ensure alignment with strategic initiatives/objectives

  • Coordinate, sustain and improve Value Streams by working with the Agile CoE and leading the Workforce strategy development and execution

  • Forecast future budget needs, measure portfolio performance, and coordinate required compliance activities

  • Foster a strong identity for Group Benefits Technology by leading communications and Employee Engagement

  • Oversee portfolio performance and coordinate the reporting of key portfolio metrics (e.g., employee engagement, customer satisfaction, productivity, agility, time-to-market, quality, partner health) working with the Group Benefits PMO and supporting monthly business huddle discussions

  • Coordinate, apply cadence and governance framework, and synchronize across value streams to ensure cooperation among a set of solutions

  • Partner with the Agile CoE to drive change management for the workforce transition to Agile and create a community of practice within GBT for Agile Sustain Leads to share and leverage best practices

  • Facilitate the review of business strategies and initiatives on a periodic basis and consider a long-term planning horizon, including reverse demand from CIO/CTO/Vendors

  • Ensure the investment prioritization process is transparent and collaborative

  • Ensure supply aligns with investment plans and the IT strategy (e.g., workforce planning)

  • Influence and adjust the value stream budgets within the portfolio periodically to meet changing business needs and ensure compliance with audit and regulatory requirements

  • Produce predictive, proactive, and strategic performance measurement metrics which tell the story about the value of technology.

  • Facilitate development and maintenance of a workforce strategy, inclusive of vendor partners, such that the ratios of employee/vendor, onshore/offshore, HIG offices, etc. are considered to achieve an optimum balance

  • Oversee Group Benefits Technology Communications such that we communicate effectively with our employees and extended team so they know what and why we are doing things and driving a high level of engagement

  • Create a strong identify for GB IT and foster a culture of innovation and acceptance within, where every team member feels valued.

  • Manage the move to the SAFe operating model (resource allocation, financial alignment and supply management) in a way aligns internal resources to strategic applications, supports employee capability development and reduces key-person dependencies.

  • 3-5 years of application portfolio experience with a heavy emphasis on financial management and executive communication

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in related field required

  • Strong knowledge and experience working in Agile, including IT financial management practices

  • Strong leadership and influencing skills at the senior management level. Ability to consult with leaders and team members.

  • Proven ability to develop talent within the team through coaching, opportunities and team growth by fostering an environment that is a destination for talent

  • Proven ability to create a high performing team that has a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and is focused on business value and outcomes.

  • Proven ability to build commitment and empower others, communicate with clarity, courage and timeliness

  • Strong knowledge of software development processes and procedures to understand team needs includes fundamentals of iterative and incremental development

  • Experience with agile methodology and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc.

  • Manage direct reports, providing coaching/feedback to ensure team success

  • Provide leadership to direct and indirect reports to ensure business deliverables are met, while providing timely coaching and feedback

VIEW JOBS 2/11/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-11T00:00 The Senior Administrative Assistant role will support the Group Benefits Actuarial leaders/team and will be an integral part of the team. The role will be based at The Hartford's location in Hartford, CT. What are the responsibilities of the position? The senior administrative assistant will provide a full range of administrative support with a high degree of competence, accuracy, and confidentiality; a variety of administrative, leadership and special project responsibilities. Leadership support to include: * Maintain and schedule calendar appointments for 2 VP's; Provide calendaring support for 6 AVP's as needed. * Assist in monitoring of reports (PTO, budget, etc.) * Communication on behalf of leader to all levels of staff * Coordinate travel arrangements for those in department – not much travel, sporadic to conferences, etc. * Manage interconnecting HRIS and Finance systems to provide input, create reports etc. * Special projects as needed. Administrative support to include: * Maintain physical and electronic files and records * Demonstrate strong knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) as well as other business applications as required; utilize Microsoft products and The Hartford's systems to pull and analyze data * Coordinate office supply ordering and equipment requests * Plan team meetings/agenda, room reserving, technology * HR process support as needed –reward and recognition, new hire setup, * Complete other ad hoc duties or special projects as requested, including coordinating office moves, working towards a paperless environment and conducting file consolidation and archiving.
