Role Summary:The Lean Manufacturing Engineer - Aviation Operating Systems (AOS) will support the Turbine Airfoils Value Stream (TAVS) in executing actions around the Aviation Operating Systems (AOS). You will work with the Process Improvement Leader and Supply Chain Division Process Leader to learn, apply and teach proficiency in Lean, 6-Sigma, Digital, Agile and CAP to transform the Turbine Airfoils Value Stream organization.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Interact with all manufacturing and support functions to drive project outcomes in collaboration with stakeholders using DMAIC rigor and Digital Technology.

  • Interface with Supply Chain Aviation Operating Systems (AOS) leaders to keep alignment with current initiatives and business outcomes

  • Be a cultural ambassador around AOS in all of GE Aviation

  • Have regular connections with senior leaders

  • Demonstrate resilience to lead with humility given lots of unknowns

  • Have the ability and willingness to travel up to 50%

  • Have an option to be based at one of the Turbine Airfoils New Make shops (Auburn, AL; Greenville, SC; Madisonville, KY; Muskegon MI) which is to be determined with the successful candidate

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college

  • 5 years of experience in a Manufacturing / Supply Chain environment (Including Demonstrable Lean Manufacturing experience including facilitating Kaizen Events / Action Work Outs)

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):

  • Completion of 6-Sigma training and demonstrated use via project completion

  • Valid US Citizenship status

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems

  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs

  • Established project management skills

  • A minimum of one year of Digital experience in a Manufacturing / Supply Chain setting (i.e. digitizing lean process flows, advanced manufacturing technology implementation, additive manufacturing)

  • Some Digital Analyst skills: Data Engineering, Retrieval and Visualization Development

You will be a part of Aviation's Payroll CoE and join a team of 10 Specialists spread across our Supply Chain. Together, you can learn and leverage best practices and help create and deliver process improvements to our payroll systems and practices. This role will also support the team as an HR Coordinator, assisting in site HR activities. Essential Responsibilities: Payroll COE * Maintain and process the site's hourly payroll, to include monitoring timecards for approvals, processing adjustments to wages, paid time off balances, benefits and other deductions * Maintain employee payroll records * Manag the payroll cycle workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed and reconciled through the time and attendance system * Review and apply judgement, interpreting employee labor contracts to ensure correct pay and payroll set up * Help site HR team communicate as needed * Analyze payroll issues and recommend corrective actions * Share best practices with the COE to leverage process improvements * Assist in site onboarding process for new hires including initial set up of payroll arrangements for new hires * Time and attendance systems training for new employees and people leaders * Interact with Payroll COE and other respective HR team members to resolve problems relating to payroll policies, computation of pay, audits, taxes and garnishments Site HR Coordinator Duties * Responsible for weekly People leader Communications * Assist site HR team with communications and training support as needed for employees and people leaders regarding best practices, insights and systems updates * Participate in site HR process improvement initiatives and proactively address ways to respond to roadblocks presented by employee and people leaders * Assist site HR team with specialized reporting and analysis * Maintain and protect confidential data with utmost scrutiny, judgment and care * Assist with other HR special projects or initiatives as needed Qualifications/Requirements: * Associate's degree from an accredited school or institution in business or comparable field * Minimum 3 years prior professional work experience in Payroll or HR related field (including a broad knowledge of payroll and HR systems and comprehensive understanding of the process for payroll transactions) Desired Characteristics: * Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college is preferred * Analytical skills necessary to develop, analyze, and interpret reports to support site needs * Strong PC skills and preferably an advanced knowledge and experience with Excel * Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with site HR staff, external contacts, and site employees in a professional manner * Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information * Proficient use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook and Excel * Strong communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management and employees * Knowledge of MyTime or Kronos; time and attendance applications preferred * Attention to detail and follow-up * Strong organization and time management skills * Ability to adapt to a changing environment * Demonstrated excellent customer service skills along with a high level of interpersonal skills * Ability to maintain the integrity of confidential information #LI-AK1 About Us: GE (NYSE:GE) drives the world forward by tackling its biggest challenges.
