Lean Coordinator - Lansing, Michigan5800 West Grand River AveLansing, Michigan, 48906United States Career OpportunityWork with facility management to identify and implement process improvement utilizing Lean principles. How you will impact WestRock.Teaches and drives Lean principles with energy and passion, functioning as a champion of change. Partners with the Plant/General Manager to reduce plant operating costs.Monitors Lean initiatives to schedules and deliverables, ensuring business objectives are met.Communicates metrics and project objectives, status, barriers, and results to all levels of the organization.Analyzes financial impact of process improvements.Provides lean training and consultation.Determines financial impact of process improvements.Investigates problems and requirements to develop and implement appropriate solutions.Follows through to ensure completion of assigned tasks.Leads teams in value-stream focused continuous improvement efforts via Kaizen Workshops and Daily Kaizens.Performs the other job duties as assigned. What you need to succeed Must have high school diploma or G.E.D. Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field is preferred. Must have prior experience implementing Lean principles. Must have personal computer skills including email, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Must be able to organize, facilitate and execute Lean training as well as Kaizen workshops. Must display energy and passion for Lean. Must be able to influence others across the organization. Must be able to develop priorities. Must have experience with pull systems, Kanban, visual workplace, flow, set-up, reduction, standard work, etc. Must have hands on experience in a manufacturing environment. Must be self-motivated. Must be able to communicate effectively with all types and levels of employees. Must be astute problem solver and be able to multi task. Must have a record of achieving cost savings. Must be willing to travel. Must be able to maintain good attendance. Must be willing to work overtime as needed. Under the direction of the Store Manager or Remodel Staff Team Lead, you will participate in the store set up, execution and timely completion of the remodel and/or renovation. This is a temporary assignment. Principle Duties & Responsibilities: * Provides great customer engagement in positive and approachable manner. * Assists in maintaining a clean, well-stocked store for customers during their shopping experience. * At the direction of the Store Manager or Remodel Staff Team Lead, builds fixtures and stocks merchandise. * Assists in unloading of merchandise from delivery truck, organizes merchandise, and transports merchandise from stockroom to sales floor. * Independently stocks shelves and recovers merchandise in the store. * At the direction of the Store Manager or Remodel Staff Team Lead, assists in building a clean, well-stocked store for customers. * Remains constantly aware of customer activity to ensure a safe and secure shopping environment. * Performs all other duties as assigned in order to maintain an effective and profitable store operation. Position Requirements: Education: Prefer completion of high school or equivalent. Ability to follow directives and interpret retail operational documents as assigned. Experience: Prefer some experience working with people and general public; Work in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery or drug store environment is preferred. Physical Requirements: Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs. (and occasionally, up to 55 lbs.) from floor level to above shoulder height; must be able to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation. Availability: Ability to work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
