Summary: As a member of the NFA Foundation, Inc. team, the Leadership Annual Giving Officer secures support from alumni, parents and friends of Norwich Free Academy who are capable of giving $1,000 or more annually.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Create and manage a fundraising plan with qualitative and quantitative goals related to securing support from NFA prospects giving annual gifts of $1,000 or more to the Foundation

  • Manage a prospect portfolio of approximately 150 individuals capable of $1,000+ annual gifts. Create and implement individual cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for each

  • Work collaboratively to recruit and train advancement volunteers to support reunion giving and faculty-staff giving campaign

  • Assist in the creation of strategy for annual scholarship campaign, with a focus on prospects that require a face-to-face solicitation and/or a special appeal package

  • Create a systematic approach to qualify new donors to determine their interest in and capacity for support

  • Utilize Raiser's Edge NXT to track visits, produce contact note, and conduct appropriate constituent follow-up

  • Attend on and off campus events as needed to cultivate the support of portfolio


  • Must be highly organized with strong interpersonal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in Windows based software and Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge and/or NXT required

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five to seven years' experience in development, preferably within an independent school or college/university

  • Demonstrated ability to personally solicit high-end annual, major, and planned gifts
