JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position supportsthe Medical Affairs organization of Sanofi-Genzyme, with a focus on the RareBleeding Disorder Unit and the Medical Affairs Global Support Functions.

The position reports to the Head ofFinance for Sanofi Genzyme Medical Affairs and is based in Cambridge, MA.

The position is responsible forproviding financial support to the Senior Management teams of the Rare Bleedingand Global Support Functions organization while successfully monitoring keyfinancial processes for the supported areas.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Budgeting and forecasting

  • Month end close accounting and reporting requirements

  • Business Partnership, Operating expenses controlling and

Compliance

  • Financial support for ad-hoc projects.

The ideal candidate is expected toprovide valuable insight and recommendation to his/her business partners toreach financial targets, while being an active member of the Sanofi-GenzymeMedical Affairs finance team.

Budgeting and Forecasting

Responsible for working inclose relationship with the Rare Bleeding Disorder and Global Support functions

Management teams in the development of expense budgets for the annual operatingbudget, forecasts and long range plan.

  • Global responsibility, requiring close collaboration and alignmentwith the Global and regional teams located in the US, Europe and Japac

  • Submission including Headcount and related expenses, projects andclinical studies costs

  • Variance analysis and commentary

  • Validating data, submission in Financesystems, generating reports and creating PowerPoint management presentations

  • Provide Business Partners with clearexplanation on drivers of their revised plan enabling them to be prepared forpresentations to GLT (Global Leadership Team)

Month End Close Accounting and

Reporting

Responsible for performing keymonth-end close accounting activities and reporting requirements in relationwith the Medical Affairs finance team (running some of the closing activitiesacross all perimeters) and in compliance with all applicable accountingstandards, statutory requirements and corporate reporting requirements andtimelines.

  • Booking and Validation of journal entries, preparing accountreconciliations

  • Month-end commentary and reporting package for the Sanofi USfinance team

  • Monthly analysis and comment for Business Partners.

Business Partnership, OperatingExpense Controlling and Compliance

Becoming the trusted financeinterlocutor of the heads of the Medical Rare Bleeding Disorder and GlobalSupport functions and their Senior Management teams.

  • Own communication around month end close calendar, deadlines anddeliverables

  • Conduct financial reviews of budgets and spending to identify,assess and investigate budget variances, presenting and commenting on financialperformance, staffing and other key financial metrics on a regular basis.

  • Responsible for managing the day to day Medical Operations expenses,including review and approval of Purchase Orders of project related initiativesand outsourced services according to Sanofi Governance and Complianceprocesses.

  • Monitoring of spending for clinical studies in liaison withrelevant support functions

Financial support for ad-hocProject

Provide technical and analyticalsupport for numerous projects and analyses to support achievement of SanofiGenzyme Medical Affairs financial goals and business objectives, including theroll-out of a new SAP platform in 2019 as well as contribution to differentwork streams aiming at OPEX optimization and reporting solutions.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years in business finance experience, with emphasis onfinancial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and month end close

  • Industry related experience a plus and/or willingness to learnabout the pharmaceutical industries and the therapeutic areas supported.

  • BS in Accounting/Finance required; CPA or MBA a plus

  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and Power-Point is critical

  • Strong accounting skills; Internal Controls

  • Knowledge of Hyperion, TM1 Cognos, SAP and Essbase preferred

  • Open minded and team player. Ability to work in a fast pacedenvironment and within a matrical organization

  • Excellent communication skills, ability to interact with SeniorLeaders
