Job Description

The Leader, Home Care BTM Integration (Business/Technology/Manufacturing) role will lead the execution of key initiatives critical to delivering on Home Care's short and long term strategic vision. She/he will be responsible for identifying ways to more effectively and efficiently design and manufacture our product portfolio through effective leadership and collaboration across multiple functions. (i.e.Operations, R&D, Marketing, Quality, Supply Chain). Analyze existing processes & products, recommend improvements, and oversee implementation.

In carrying out these responsibilities, the Leader, BTM Integration coordinates activities across the matrix by interfacing with various BD functional leaders, leadership in BD manufacturing facilities, senior management in the UCC organization, and external suppliers/vendors.

This newly created role will be based in the Urological & Critical Care divisional headquarters and reports to the Worldwide VP & General Manager, Home Care. This individual will be a key member of the Home Care Worldwide Leadership Team, and an extended team member of the US Commercial Excellence Leadership Team


  • Lead the effective execution of diverse critical business initiatives via multiple functions and stakeholders. Engage and gain the support of associates in various positions of responsibility and in various functions within BD worldwide. The incumbent will clearly communicate project plans and resource requirements to gain the support of these individuals. Each initiative will be unique, and may or may not have a designated core team.

  • Act as primary liaison between Covington, GA R&D/Marketing/Quality team, and the Juarez Mexico manufacturing team.

  • Develop a strategy across Operations, Marketing, and R&D in driving 5% year-on-year COGs reduction through Cost 2 Win and continuous improvement projects.

  • Represent Operations in commercial and cross-functional forums.

  • Be an extended but active member of NPD teams to ensure key input provided to ensure achievement of throughput and COGs targets.

  • Provide hands-on project and technical leadership to execute key business operational imperatives.

  • Interface with external vendors/suppliers.

  • Will have an understanding of the overall business strategy for assigned area and be able to structure and implement plans to support this business strategy.

  • Some duties will require the incumbent to personally execute specific programs which are key to the overall business, technology, or manufacturing success of Home Care. Successful candidates will therefore need to be able to manage projects of varying degrees of size, cost, and complexity, and maintain complete control over project timelines, budgets, and risks, facilitating timely decisions to maintain/mitigate them.


Education & Experience

  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in Operations or Sustaining Engineering;

  • Experience working on a management team at a manufacturing plant highly preferred.

  • Must understand business requirements and strategy (financial, service level, new product, etc.)

  • Knowledge of the interrelationship between Manufacturing Operations, R&D, Finance, Quality, Regulatory, and Supply Chain. Experience working with these functions to achieve objectives.

  • Requires a B.S. Degree, Engineering preferred. An advanced degree in engineering discipline or MBA is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Leading complex initiatives with multiple stakeholders; effective project management/leadership a must

  • Strong / effective influencing & problem-solving skills

  • Personal effectiveness and ability to influence others, with and without authority

  • Strong communications skills a must.

  • Successful track record of partnering closely with Commercial leaders

  • Lean/Six Sigma, Validation. Experience with/certification in Lean/Six Sigma and Validation preferred

  • The position will require up to 30-50% travel

  • Can work out of Juarez, MX or Covington, GA *

Responsible for executing and sustaining environmental, health, and safety programs, support of facility and operations projects and pest control for the Covington and Madison GA facilities. Job Description Essential job Functions: * Executes environmental health and safety programs and ensures site compliance to all EHS DOPs and SOPs. These programs include: Internal EHS audit program, site emergency response program, site safety committees, incident investigation program, safety training program, hot work program, EHS metric data gathering, collection, and score card reporting. * Conducts EHS training on a variety of topics such as HAZCOM, PPE, Storm Water, NFPA 70E, Emergency Evacuation, CPR/AED, and Confined Space. Coordinates with external contractors and agencies to assist with training as needed. * Responsible for filing and document storage of all EHS related documents, updates EHS procedures as assigned. * Responsible for ensuring the inspection and testing of all fire extinguishers, PIVs, emergency lighting, eye wash stations, safety showers, first aid kits, AEDs, and other safety equipment. Provides technical expertise and assists with inspections as needed. Approves all facility hot work and impairment permits. Coordinates and supervises outside contractors as needed. * Responsible for the maintenance and testing of the facilities fire alarm and associated systems. Coordinates and supervises outside contractors to make repairs and upgrades as needed. * Responsible for support of facility and operations related projects including construction, renovation or improvements. * Keeps up to date on all current and pending environmental, health and safety legislation and regulations.
