ROLE SUMMARY Description: The Lead/Key Staff acts as designated resource/liaison between staff and managers regarding department operations. # ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES #Oversees the orientation of employees to assure familiarity with job requirements, relevant policies, and procedures, proper use of tools and equipment, productivity expectations, safety practices, etc. #Promotes intra- and inter-departmental cooperation and positive morale. Provides direction and answers coworkers questions. #Responsible for departmental operations in the absence of the supervisor and delegates job duties as needed. #Accurately coordinates work and vacation schedules.
Reviews and approves leave requests. Takes appropriate action to promote attendance and minimize tardiness. #Ensures the collection of time sheets, routes to the appropriate individual for approval, and forwards by prescribed deadline. #Ensures that supplies are stocked and available; orders additional supplies if necessary. #Provides initial coaching and mentoring to staff as appropriate #Refers performance issues to the supervisor or manager to evaluate if a performance improvement process is needed. # ##Yakima Valley Memorial provides reasonable accommodations to assist qualified individuals in order to perform the essential duties/requirements their job requires.
