SUMMARY: Provides work leadership to hourly employees in completion of their job duties in environmental services within an area, location or building.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Makes work assignments for housekeeping staff using schedule made by Housekeeping Manager; supervises performance of housekeeping employees to ensure that the highest degree of cleanliness and sanitation is achieved.
Ensures that employees use supplies economically.
Instructs and trains new employees.
Assists in employee training, hiring, terminations, counseling, and motivation.
Schedules and assists with special cleaning assignments and or projects.
Must be able to assume duties of housekeeper when needed.
Reports to Manager any defective equipment or malfunctions in the hospital.
Enforces strict adherence to hospital standards of infection control by wearing proper apparel and using precautions when performing job duties.
Observes rules of confidentiality to include patients and fellow employees.
Consistently completes job duties on shift; willing to work late if needed.
Adheres to all established systems and training programs to provide a safe working environment. Complies with all OSHA regulations and other, state and federal government regulations.
Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to communicate effectively. (Both verbal and written.)
Ability to read and understand equipment operation manual.
Basic knowledge of infection control procedures and universal precautions.
