We're looking for someone to join our team as a Lead, Vascular Technologist who:
Supports Vascular Lab services, working with the Ultrasound Supervisor, to responsibly direct the activities of the Registered Vascular Technologist untilizing both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgement. Oversees and performs clinical assessment and diagnostic vascular testing for patients utilizing multiple modalities. Maintains testing equipment, work areas and supplies.
Schedules examinations and procedures. Prepares patients for examination and explains procedures. Identifies and records appropriate anatomical, pathological and diagnostic information. Differentiates normal from abnormal testing results.
Collaborates with physicians and other team members to assess, implement and evaluate patient care in accordance with current policies and procedures. Reviews pathology, surgical and angiography reports to follow patient's progress and to provide a means of correlation.
Operates complex non-invasive equipment pertinent to department needs including Real time, Duplex, Color Doppler, Doppler, Plethysmography, etc. Provides technical aid for surgical procedures.
Participates with physician/s in interpretation of studies, contributing technical and professional knowledge to the final diagnostic impression or report.
Assists in orientation of new staff members and students.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
You'll be successful with the following qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in radiological technology, nursing or equivalent (some certifications will require Bachelor's): Preferred
Master's Degree: Preferred
Graduate of an accredited ultrasound or cardiovascular program with vascular technology emphasis: Required
Five years technical experience: Preferred
Two years registered vascular technologist experience: Preferred
Two years experience in an Electrophysiology Lab: Preferred
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required
Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) designation from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) within the state of practice: Required
