We are looking for Lead UX Engineer who is passionate about beautiful design, impeccable user experience, crafting amazing code, and sharing knowledge with others. The candidate will be part of the Digital Experience team working cross-functionally with UX designers and engineers. The ideal candidates would be active in the web development community, participate in open source community and meetup events. They would think in terms of scalable UI architecture, building React UI components and patterns as part of comprehensive design systems to be consumed by developer community inside the company to drive consistency and enhance development experience. They would have a strong understanding of the challenges facing modern web design and development. They would always strive to do right by the consumer, delivering the best user experience.


  • Lead in creating high quality, reusable, and extensible React UI components for internal developer community.

  • Create components that faithfully reflect the company's master design language in terms of visuals as well as rich user interaction design patterns using CSS3 and JavaScript.

  • Work with other UX disciplines and development teams to create comprehensive Design System encompassing design, code, content, voice & tone, and patterns.

  • Work with developer community to drive adoption of React UI components in their applications and maintain high quality implementation.

  • Participate in regular knowledge sharing sessions with development teams and design teams to bridge gaps.

  • Help define systems and processes that will enable teams to design, prototype, build, test, and launch new product ideas in timely, predictable, and cost effective manner.


  • Bachelor's degree in related field or 14 to 18 years of experience.

  • 8-12 years relevant experience with Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree and 6-10 years of relevant experience.

  • 6+ years of front-end web development experience.

  • Experience building SPAs with React and other JS based frameworks.

  • Deep understanding of CSS, CSS3, SCSS, having built, modified, or maintained UI frameworks

  • Able to build rich UI with animation and transitions.

  • Familiar with the challenges of responsive design and development

  • Impeccable attention to visual design details.

  • Extensive experience working on consumer facings websites or applications

  • Have written and maintained tests for front end code using frameworks like Jasmine, Karma, Cucumber, Nightwatch

  • Have worked in an Agile environment, and are familiar with SCRUM and/or Kanban

  • Has experience with Task runners line Gulp

  • Has configured and used code splitting and bundlers like Webpack

  • Expert understanding of Git, not afraid to cherry pick or squash commits

  • Have written and maintain code standards for HTML, CSS or JavaScript

  • Have participated in code review process, giving constructive feedback to peers

The Lead Engineer will bring advanced engineering skills, to R&D activities related to new single use disposable products. The candidate will play a lead role in designing of single use plastic injection products for diabetes therapy. Candidates should be prepared to present previous product engineering work during the interview process to demonstrate their abilities and experience. Duties and Responsibilities * Lead the design efforts for single use disposable products. The candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing and delivering innovative and practical solutions in alignment with the product development road map. * Lead the group, working with Marketing, in the next generation injection systems by understanding the customer needs and translating them into functional engineering solutions to design safe and effective single use disposable products for injection. * Lead the efforts in creation of specifications, design, and test methods for the new products. * Interface with manufacturing on an ongoing basis during the development stages to ensure manufacturability of the design solutions. * Support the design for pen needles and syringes. * The Lead Engineer would collaboratively interface/influence manufacturing associates on a frequent basis to provide technical guidance on issues that affect DFMA, manufacturing capability and rate of the NEW products in the pipeline. * Facilitate and/or coordinate clinical and formative studies- to develop scope definition, design response correlations and design solutions. Requirements: * Must have a BS in Engineering (Mechanical (preferred), or Biomedical engineering) with at least 8 years experience, preferably in high volume and /or medical device industry developing new products * Must have strong design skills in single use plastic and/or metal disposable products with at least 5 years' experience using Solidworks. * Experience leading teams without authority cross functionally. * Experience working in structured Phase Gate product development and technology development processes. * Proficient in Microsoft office products with emphasis on Excel, and Word. Additional and Preferred Qualifications: * Ability to lead new product development activities including conceptualization and design controls (design verification, validation, process validation etc.). * Ability to clearly communicate ideas and knowledge (upward and downward) to other individuals and teams – both in writing and verbally. * Must have strong project management and experience working with outside design services. This should include experience managing budgets, timelines, design scope and manufacturing activates. * Experience managing multiple work streams. * Experience in developing vendors and partners.
