realtor.com seeks a Lead User Researcher, to help us create and evaluate industry leading real estate websites. The right candidate should be an expert in user research from uncovering deep insights about behaviors and needs, to testing solutions. You should also have experience with designing/launching new products and measuring customer satisfaction. You communicate insights and results as actionable recommendations, inspiring improvements to new and existing products.

As a member of the User Experience Research team, you will work closely with product managers, designers, marketing and sales team to identify research needs, plan and execute studies, and advocate for our users in all stages of product development.   • Manage your own process: identify research objectives, create research proposals and plans, and conduct studies through a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods.

  • Work cross-functionally with designers, product managers, marketing & sales team to understand key initiatives and roadmaps to prioritize research. Facilitate team working sessions.

  • Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data from multiple studies and sources to generate strategic and tactical insights, actionable recommendations, and rich stories about our customers.

  • Effectively communicate research findings and actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.

  • Act as a research thought leader and advocate for customers who use our products.


  • 7+ years of relevant research experience.

  • Self-starter, self-managing, and comfortable supporting multiple stakeholders in multiple offices.

  • Demonstrated ability in planning, executing, analyzing and communicating data and insights.

  • Previous experience building and sharing a body of knowledge from a variety of studies over time.

  • Ability to iterate during and between studies to identify, implement, and evaluate changes quickly.

  • Ability to think on your feet, adapting sessions on the fly to get the best input from users.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in design, sociology, or research (Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Experimental Psychology, UX/Visual Design, or related degrees preferred).
