Role Summary:

The Power Services (PS) Electrical Excitation (EE) Lead Training Instructor will be responsible for delivery of training curriculum for Excitation courses, serving PS Customer, and PS Field Engineer clientele. The PS Product Training Delivery Team is chartered with delivery of state-of-the-art employee technical training courses providing safe, high quality, capable field service representatives for the PS business to apply across the energy cycle.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the PS EE Lead Training Instructor, you will:

  • Conduct training sessions using approved training materials and will be directly involved with revising training materials

  • Responsible for delivery of customer technical training courses on GE Electrical equipment

  • Manage, troubleshoot, repair and maintain EE simulators and lab equipment for PS Training Equipment

  • Work closely with Leadership and Product Engineering, New Product Introduction (NPI), Repair Technology Center of Excellence (RTCoE) teams to deliver current, cutting edge technology training to meet fulfillment needs

  • Integrate Field Engineering e-tools, reporting, service notice and other business processes into the training programs

  • Provide input on course scheduling & logistics per strategic business requests

  • Verify that customer training material is up to date with documentation & record keeping (leverage technical reference materials where appropriate in training session, update course material and conduct student performance evaluations)

  • Train class attendees with state-of-the-art content in the safest, most efficient manner

  • Own & drive course content improvement, delivering on specific session CTQ's (Critical to quality)

  • Maintain financial control of training expenses

  • Leverage business subject matter experts as extended training team members

  • Focus on safe, high quality training with the ultimate deliverable being a high quality, capable, field PS Field Representative to apply to customer maintenance and/or installation needs

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences (OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 10 years of professional work experience as an EE Field Engineer or in installation and maintenance) or equivalent military experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of manufacturing, process, or hands on field experience with electrical excitation equipment installation, operation and maintenance

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally 40% of the time

Desired Characteristics:

  • Adult technical teaching course delivery or equivalent training experience

  • Technically savvy with in-depth GE EE product knowledge or equivalent

  • Ability to learn and apply new technology, such as GE Electrical Excitation products

  • Field experience with EE equipment design, installation, startup, troubleshooting and/or maintenance

  • GE Field Engineering Program (FEP) graduate or equivalent

  • Experience in development and implementation of learning programs, including needs assessment, instructional design, content development and program reviews

  • Electrical Excitation knowledge of past and present product lines

  • Technical training experience for customer or internally

  • Strong project management skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on customer service

  • Ability and desire to actively collaborate and provide direction within a team

  • Strong ability to clearly convey technical concepts to business and technical personnel

  • Dedication and drive to meet the highest standards of training delivery

  • Ability to implement adult learning theory in an enthusiastic, clear, and effective manner

  • Recent installation experience

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Fluency in English

  • Flexible and willing to learn and teach new technologies

  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, and Power Point

  • Proficient with current e-business tools and current Core Load software
