We are hiring! Atkins seeks a Lead Traffic Operator to join our team in Trenton, NJ. This role will be embedded at NJDOT's Arterial Management Center (AMC) in New Jersey.

How will you contribute to the team?

In this role, as a Lead Traffic Operator at the AMC, you will be responsible for the following activities, including but not limited to, the following as part of either an 8-hour AM (6AM - 2PM) or PM shift (12N - 8PM):

Actively monitoring the AMC traffic signal systems and devices under the direction of the Supervisor:

• Troubleshooting traffic signal system and sub-system performance based on experience in operating data video communications network and systems.

• Collect and/or analyze traffic and/or traffic signal data and fine tune/calibrate as needed.

• Optimizing traffic signal timings based on adaptive signal data

• Update and modification of traffic signal systems.

• Monitoring of lane use control signs during dynamic shoulder operation.

• Unplanned monitoring of detection devices.

• Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

What will you contribute?

• B.S in Engineering or Information Technology.

• Experience in Traffic Engineering with exposure to ITS equipment.

• Familiarity with and Training in Traffic Management Software.

• Implementation of the QA/QC policies.

• Experience with design or operation of controlled traffic signal system technologies.

• Knowledge and familiarity with existing systems deployed by NJDOT or similar systems is desired. Examples include SCATS, ATMS. Now, Wavetronix etc.

Expected compensation range is between $56,849 - 94,748 USD annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
