About the Team

At Worldpay for Platforms, we are a global team of passionate Client Facing, Financial Services and Technology experts. We provide vertical software companies with an all-in-one platform and white-glove implementation approach to capitalize on the opportunities for growth, innovation, and transformation within embedded payments on the Payrix product. The Payrix team has offices in Denver, Atlanta, and Cincinnati. This is a remote eligible role.

What you will be doing

  • Welcome new writers and help them get up to speed quickly.

  • Analyze their skills and assign them to the most suitable projects under direction of your manager.

  • Handle incoming assignments and take on or delegate the ones that don't fit neatly into any category, with consultations with your manager.

  • Reach out to gather all the information needed for the writing team's success, with your manager's guidance and direction.

  • Along with your manager and other writers, interact with customer-facing teams to understand customer needs and pain points.

  • Develop documentation plans and optimize content for cloud, mobile, and search engines.

  • Provide feedback on features, functionality, and UI/UX.

  • Align with Product and Engineering to prioritize and match content with upcoming releases.

  • Follow style guidelines and maintain high standards for your content while welcoming feedback and sharing writing style and tone updates with the rest of the writing team.

  • Create engaging diagrams and other content to explain concepts and workflows; convert some diagrams to animations.

  • Build relationships across the organization and leverage those relationships for the benefit of users and for Payrix revenue, with direction and guidance from your manager.

What you bring

  • 5+ years of Technical Writing experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality documentation directly on milestones & deadlines.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Experience with workflows and tools used by engineering, operations, and product teams.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup-style environment.

  • Familiarity with web technologies and content creation tools.

  • Strong background in financial software solutions, financial apps, and SaaS.

  • Positive team attitude and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with Agile development and tools such as Confluence and Jira.

Additional Experience (Advantageous, but not required):

  • Be comfortable with REST and Java APIs, Git, Agile, Confluence, and tools such as Jira.

  • Write using XML/DITA, Markdown, minimalism, etc.

  • Have some experience with YAML/JSON and OpenAPI/SwaggerUI.

  • Use of HTTP clients like Postman to test API queries.

  • Familiarity with API-focused documentation tools such as ReadMe and APIMatic.

  • Familiarity with code examples in languages like Java, JavaScript, JSON, YAML, PHP, and Ruby.

  • Know your way around HTML, CSS, Markdown, Git, and support systems like Zendesk.

  • Have some knowledge of databases like Postgres, MySQL, noSQL, or MongoDB.

  • Be familiar with CI/CD models for DevOps as well as data analysis tools like Google Analytics and Tableau.

  • Engage with various stakeholders across the company, customers, and open-source communities.

  • Understand project management, and team management concepts.

  • Experience and understanding of standard doc tools such as Confluence, Scroll Viewport, Zendesk, and Document360, among others.
