Overview

We are seeking a Lead Technical Program Manager - Advanced Serviceability:

An Advanced Serviceability Program Manager assesses the serviceability our product in the current market versus the competition. Areas that are evaluated include:

  • Maintenance Interval

  • Component Interval Longevity

  • Serviceability (Maintenance and Repair)

Additionally, the Advanced Serviceability Program Manager participates in new program Concept Sheet Reviews, Virtual Architecture reviews and Standards (SDS) adherence and assignment.

This role also performs on vehicle reviews to evaluate adherence to the above standards and works cross functionally with Program Teams, Product Development and the field.

Position Purpose

Manages people who lead cross-functional teams that are focused on the delivery of a product or service from design to release for customers. Develops, defines and executes project plans, schedules, budgets and deliverables. Identifies needed resources for projects, defines and assigns major project roles. Monitors the product/program/project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with external customers or field-based employees on technical matters, as needed. Assigns and monitors work of project/program management staff, providing technical support and direction. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree

  • At least 6 years of technical project/program management experience

  • At least 1 year of lead experience

OR

  • Master's degree

  • At least 4 years of technical project/program management experience

  • At least 1 year of lead experience

OR

  • At least 8 years of technical project/program management experience

  • At least 1 year of lead experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. As an immediate assignment, this position will be responsible for the completion of the Innovation Center facilities which includes equipment commissioning, construction of pilot plant, R&D kitchens and other areas. Ongoing, this position will manage and lead the day-to-day operations of the Innovation Center and ensure that capabilities exist to support R&D team members on multiple types of projects as well as other assigned tasks. Included in this are the implementation and monitoring of Preventive Maintenance programs, Safety and Food Safety programs, governmental regulatory agency requirements and other relevant programs. This candidate will operate in a cross-functional environment with internal/external stakeholders and contractors. The position will manage a technical team and foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement through leadership, coaching, training, and accountability. This role requires strong technical background with the ability to apply prior knowledge and product development principles to guide/mentor team members and grow their capabilities for contributing to the organization. Maintaining the R&D pilot plant process equipment, facilities and utilities in optimal working conditions.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Ensure compliance of all relevant food and safety regulations in pilot and food manufacturing environments. Accountable for the for management and maintenance of HACCP Plan and food safety management system.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Develop and foster a culture of safety (Zero Injury) and continuous improvement. Ensures accountability in the development, implementation, and visibility of training SOP's for pilot plant equipment, safety programs (LOTO), emergency preparedness, and other required training for internal team members and contractors. Lead the efforts in identifying and implementing upgrades to innovation center facilities and utilities, and maintenance program.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Participate as a strategic technical lead for project pipeline review and prioritization. Communicate strategies and priorities to team members for alignment and direction.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Provide hands on work and leadership in gathering information and submitting requests for maintenance work, capital requests, equipment leases, and other facility needs to support business growth initiatives. Working with cross-functional team members on installation of new process equipment and process modifications according to project timelines.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Primary point of contact and liaison with FSQA, maintenance, facilities manager and engineering teams for initiatives related to Innovation Center. Masters/PhD are a plus.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Must have previous experience in the food processing facility with strong understanding of FDA, USDA regulations. HACCP certified is a plus.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Previous experience in operations and maintenance management in a production environment. Strong knowledge of food safety management systems, food processing concepts, operations, sanitation programs, safety programs (LOTO), etc.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Exhibits leadership and demonstrated ability to work across multiple levels of the organization. Experience developing and commercializing food products and/or food processing technologies. Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize work for self and others.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Demonstrated people management experience.
