  • Prepare and implement lesson plans for use with children/families.

  • Partner with families to identify priorities for their child and the family.

  • Train and support family/caregivers to attain outcomes established in intervention plans.

  • Document daily activities of children, report on progress quarterly and create the classroom newsletter.

  • Classroom management and room arrangement.

  • Nurture and support children between the ages of six weeks to six years old.

  • Provide redirection and positive guidance to children.

  • Implement long and short-term goals for children in the classroom.

  • Provide experiences that promote cognitive, social, physical and language development.

  • Develop meaningful relationships with children, coworkers, families, and anyone involved in the child's care.

Position Requirements for Lead Teachers:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of experience with children. Experience with children must be in a childcare, center-based setting working directly in group care. This experience must be documented through signed letters from prior placements including the number of hours worked per week, the length of employment and the classroom setting.

  • An Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in early childhood education or related is preferred. If candidate has an Associates or Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related, the two years of experience with children is not required.

  • Knowledge of typical infant/toddler/preschool/school-aged development and developmental disabilities.

  • Must have the ability to keep all appropriate documentation such as observations, attendance, and incident reporting.

  • Effective communication skills and strong organization skills.

  • Computer proficiency is required.

  • Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Standing, sitting, lifting, and walking is required daily.
